Quality issue 22p caramel mini rectangular flap

Hello all, so I purchased a 22p caramel mini rectangular flap (my dream bag in dream color honestly) pre-loved. The color is to die for, I really love it! However, I am superbly disappointed in the apparent lack of attention to detail on Chanel's side. Look at this chain... the flap of the leather of the interwoven chain literally sticks out of the grummets. I'm sure a fake bag would look better than this!!! (this bag has been authenticated twice, I do not doubt its authenticity).

Anyone else notice this on 22P pieces?

All my other Chanel pieces are vintage for a reason. The quality is incomparable!

My mini rectangular flap (bought last month) has a strap that's exactly the same as this. I pointed it out at the store and the SA said it's just how these bags are, they have to put the end of the leather strap somewhere. I'm not an expert so can't say if this is normal for Chanel or if it is a quality issue. Your bag is otherwise stunning! Love the colour!

I am so in love with the color - if I weren't, I would definitely return this! It just seems like they are okay with doing an "okay" job vs. excellent job. At these prices, that is just not normal. But I guess as long as people like us accept it, they have no incentive to change it ... they know how to get us! :D

I have the CF not the mini and both ends are different than yours. I also went to check my oldest mini and they are also different. I am going to be honest here, personally it would not bother me but if it bothers you, maybe rehoming it and waiting for another one might be best for you. GLD

It's normal but does look wonky/exaggerated. At least w/the CF you can rotate the chain so the ends don't pop out but not on mini. I still would just relax and enjoy this yummy piece of goodness!

This is normal and I honestly don’t think it looks bad at all. When you wear the bag it’s not really something that’s glaringly obvious and if it hadn’t of been pointed out then I’m sure not many people would notice it. It doesn’t detract from the beautiful lambskin and colour at all!

I agree vintage doesn’t compare - this is just how they make them these days unfortunately

This is not a quality issue, all of my Minis are exactly the same from various seasons don’t worry. Just wear the bag and enjoy it instead of scrutinising every minuscule detail. Lovely colour!
