Quality, but not necessarily "brand name"

I've carried Coach, Dooney, michael Kors, etc. Nothing like prada or LV. But I don't have the ability to spend that kind of money on a bag. I never will. But recently I find myself drawn to quality leather and craftsmanship and I could care less about the name on it. In fact I'd rather carry something obscure. I just ordered a Tano. I've also ordered from crafters on etsy and recently bought from Brynn Capella out of Chicago. I'd love to hear others who like obscure or lesser known and less expensive but quality bags.

Since you are familiar with Coach already, have you taken a look at their 1941 line? It's higher end, and high quality, but not premier pricing. They don't have logos or garish brandishing, usually people who ask me about mine are shocked to know it's Coach. And you can find them on sale as well sometimes.

I’ve seen a few I like. My issue with coach is I like crossbody (and actually need it for my back) and most of what they call crossbody with any decent room is basically a handle bag with a strap rather than something specifically designed to be a crossbody.

Have you heard of Rough and Tumble? They're an American brand and the prices aren't too bad; here is their website: https://roughandtumbledesign.com/

Charles et Charlus is a French brand that makes high-quality leather bags, too, and the prices aren't bad either. I tried to link their website, but I am not able to (I think their server is currently down at the moment).

Il Bisonte is an Italian brand that makes excellent quality leather bags. They are on the pricier side, but occasionally they'll have good sales: https://www.ilbisonte.com/us-en/c/s...z0llpyjejAHQYdU4VnF_Wc70-wAR2VRxoCAXkQAvD_BwE

Rough and Tumble has been on my radar. Still a little more than I like to spend but they're on my list of bags to buy when I my "it's how much??" filter goes off. LOL Haven't heard of the others - will check them out!

Just stumbled upon this thread. Have you check out Arayla? They are a new independent brand that uses qualitynleathers to create artisan bags. I have gotten a few over the last three months and I just love them. I love the philosophy of the company and the fact that all bags are made in Los Angeles. They are also made with the busy working woman in mind.
They are worth checking out.

And now I'm obsessed with Rough & Tumble. They're like the leather version of Moop Shop in Pittsburgh, who I also love.

I have 2 Tano bags, one with thick pebbled leather, love those bags!

How do you like Brynn Capella?
