Hi, I was talking to a leather expert the other day and apparently brands don't like to do pure white bags as they are really hard to repair. That is why the whites are usually a bit grey, off white etc.

There's no such thing as 'pure' white, just as there is no such thing as pure black. This is why why a black Balmain blazer looked almost dark blue next to my black McQueen skirt the other day.

Pure white only exists in theory. If you put it close to all other versions of white (like whit paint) they will all be different. All versions of the 'colour' will have an undertone.

It's true white leather has to be painted and not cleaned. White will always yellow with time and oxygen (oxidation).

It's also a reason bright white was popular but not thought tasteful (classy) at the height of the white bag in the Summer era (early-1950s-mid '60s). Platsics could be made whiter (also oxidised yellow) and were made white, but leather goods (including 'white' gloves) were all made slightly off-white, parchment or cream so when the yellowing happened it was not as noticeable.

Hi! Thank you all for your replies. I find the chanel classic flap white “white” enough, but my budget is not enough . Can anyone suggest another bag that is cheaper and as white as the chanel classic flap?
