Hi All!
I’m new to the forum and have been searching the forum for days to see if anyone has posted on this subject, but I am Louis Vuitton obsessed! I was able to purchase my first bag in 2015 after wanting one for nearly 20 years. I told my husband it was a great investment cause it’s the last purse I’ll ever need. ;) I purchased the Neverfull GM in Damier Ebene and fell in love instantly and could not wait to get more, much to my husband’s dismay. Lol! Anyway, in April f this year I started an Etsy business making keychains and wristlets out of damaged bags that still have great canvas. My problem is, the Monogram is abundant and usually easy to find, but the Damier’s, both Ebene and azures are harder. I tend to look on Mercari, Tradesy, RealReal, and Poshmark. Is anyone here familiar of other places that sell bags in this shape. I only use bags that are basically beyond repair. Holes in the canvas, handles broke, cracks in canvas, etc. There’s no way I could deconstruct a Louis Vuitton if it were repairable, it’s hard enough the way it is!! Thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone! Actually, I do look on EBay, I just get a bit more leery as I do want authentic Louis Vuitton bags cause I feel that’s what makes my products special and I feel that I’m savy enough to look for all the telltale signs of a fake, but for some reason, I just am so suspicious on EBay. It’s so hard to tell the actual quality of what you’re getting in pictures, even when they are damaged and you’re aware of that. I’ve purchased 2 Keepall 55s. The first was most likely water damaged, and the 2nd the vachetta handles were broke but the Monogram Canvas was in excellent condition. It just goes to show you that if you do take care of the canvas, it will stay in great shape. The 3rd bag I purchased was a Damier Azur 30 speedy, and when I received it, I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to use any of it! I actually had to cut up the bag, put laundry detergent on it and put the strips in the washing machine to brighten the canvas. The thing is, I still paid $150 for it! It did work out though but it’s a gamble, which is why I didn’t know if there were other outlets. But all in all it’s a very good thing that they hold their value so well, cause they are amazing bags! Take it from me, it is NO easy task deconstructing them!!!

A lot of Japanese sellers have old bags on EBay, in a variety of canvases. Some of them are specifically sold as “junk” And are in poor condition for projects and the like.
Maybe I need to actually search under “junk” Louis Vuitton. I usually search on there for Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene it Azur....

If I may ask, what happened to this? Was a mugger trying to steal your wallet? I know in NYC in tourist areas, this happens a lot. Breaks my heart.

So my next door neighbor actually did this with a pair of scissors after his girlfriend cheated on him he's an idiot he had not even given it to her yet he could have returned it but he says it was worth it. So he gave it to me but it is not fixable but I have heard that sometimes people purchase these damaged purses to make other items with I mean besides the cut it is brand new I just have no idea where you would sell something like that and I just wondered if anyone on this block might know thank you
