Being a southerner, and its Thanksgiving.....:P

Do you prefer and say PUH-KAAN or PEE-CAN when you want that pie with nuts all over it and in it?:P

The word pecan originates from the Algonquin Indian term "pakan," which meant a nut so hard that it had to be cracked with a stone...so therefore it is a PUH-KAAN pie!

I'm a foreigner living in the US and I just resort to pointing to "that nut" now that I've received a few odd looks! LOL! I've always said Pee-can previously tho.
