Wes Scantlin got in a standoff with dozens of armed officers at his home in Los Angeles, TMZ reported.

Officers were called last month about a burglary on a car parked in Scantlin's driveway, law enforcement sources told the website.

The Puddle Of Mudd singer, 43, dashed inside the house when police arrived and refused to get out, TMZ wrote.

Cops tried to get Scantlin to cooperate but had several unsuccessful attempts.

They eventually called 'at least' 30 armed officers as backup, TMZ reported.

One of them can be seen during the arrest pointing a rifle.

The standoff reportedly lasted a couple of hours until officers broke down Scantlin's back door and escorted him out.

Scantlin can be seen in another arrest photo with his hands behind his back as an officer walks him away from the house.

He was wearing a hoodie, jeans and sneakers at the time.

Scantlin was arrested on a previous warrant but wasn't held for the standoff, TMZ wrote.

Officers told the website Scantlin and a couple of friends were trying to jump start the car, not commit a burglary.

The singer pleaded not guilty in February to a felony vandalism charge filed after being arrested at a home he had lost in foreclosure.

Authorities said Scantlin had caused about $7,000 in damage to the home, deteriorating the plumbing and a garage door and ripping an alarm system out of the wall.

He was also charged with misdemeanor trespassing at the time.

Police tried to get Scantlin to cooperate but called for backup after several unsuccessful attempts. According to TMZ, 30 armed officers showed up and some broke down the back door

Wait, I'm confused. The cops were called in because they thought they were burglarizing a car in his own driveway? Why the 30 men with weapons? Did this guy brandish a weapon? The story just makes no sense to me!

I hope he can pull himself together if not for himself but for his son.

I knew he had been arrested a couple of times for DV, but I didn't realise just how long his list of legal issues actually was until I dived further in.

That's him & it's heartbreaking, he needs serious help. POM use to be one of my favorite bands, he is so talented. UGH
I wonder if his friends and family haven't washed their hands of him, so to speak. This craziness has been going on for a very long time now.

Seems like this latest episode would qualify him for a 5150 hold if it took 30 armed LEOs to subdue him.
