I have been using LMB for my bags. I recently purchased a new bag so I wanted to treat the handles with LMB but for some reason I can't find my LMB kit. After searching online, I stumbled across Collonil Waterstop spray and decided to use it & I'm so happy that I did! :yahoo: Firstly, this one is cheaper than LMB(15aud), it's so easy to use and dries in seconds without darkening the vachetta leather. With LMB on the other hand, you need to be careful in putting the cream otherwise you'll end up with streaks & slight darkening of the leather. Overall, Im extremely satisfied with Collonil and will be using it to protect my bags from now on. :happydance:

Thanks for posting this, it is good to know as it is easier to get hold of collonil water stop spray in the UK.

No worries. Same here, Collonil is being sold locally while I need to order LMB online as it's not available here in Australia. I'm extremely satisfied with the results and will be using Collonil from now on.

I also use colonil for all my vachetta.. Easier to get and i like the result too..

Does the spray wipe off of the canvas with no damage, or do I have to be really careful?

It wipes off easily and poses no damage to canvas. I covered the canvas and hardware with paper and some managed to get into the hardware and canvas and I just wiped them all off, no discoloration whatsoever.

Thanks for the info about Collonil. I have always used Appleguard Rain & Stain Repellent on my vachetta, and it is also much cheaper than LMB, dries instantly, and works great. Have been caught in the rain a few times and still no water spots on my vachetta!!!

Did you spray directly onto the vachetta, or sprayed onto a cloth and then wipe over the vachetta?

I wonder which method is the more effective.

I havent tried applegarde but I also read a lot of good reviews about it!
Hmm, I thought I was done with vachetta, but something like this would change my mind. Thanks for sharing!
