Can someone tell me if it's pronounced like "ebbel" (the same eb sound as in ebony) or "E-bel" with the E sounding just like the letter E?

I just bought an Ebel watch and two different companies that I talked to prounced it both ways. :smile1:

TIA!

The correct way is: e-BELL

Accent on the second syllable.

I need to find the link, but there is a site that has all the brands, and when you click them, it reads the correct pronunciation aloud. Very cool.

I will see what I can dig up!

:D

OK. Here's a DECENT list. Not perfect by far, but here is what you need to remember. The correct way to say a brand, is in YOUR native tongue.

For example: Mont Blanc. If you were French, you likely would say it "Mon Blohn(c)" with such a soft "t" and "c" on the end, as to be almost imperceptable.

If like me you are from NY, it is perfectly acceptable to say it: "Mohnt Blohnk"

So as you read pronunciation guides, they will differ a bit. In fact, this list says EBEL is correct when said "ay-BELL". So there you go.

Enjoy. Don't let some snobby person correct you, LOL. I have heard reps for Zenith say "ZEH-nith" AND "ZEE-nith". ;) I prefer the second way. You know, like the old TV brand, LOL. Makes the snazzy watch sound all low brow and stuff. ;)

Enjoy!:D
