I recently received a big promotion and I want to get myself a piece of fine jewelry to celebrate. I'm looking for a bracelet, ring, or watch. I'm considering the van cleef Alhambra bracelet, Cartier panthere, but also would love suggestions for anything special. Looking to keep within $7k.

Congratulations on your big promotion! I feel that when one starts their fine jewelry collection, you can't stop at one piece. Eventually, you will get a piece from VCA, Cartier, Rolex and of course the ever so classic diamond tennis bracelet. I suggest trying all the pieces you are interested in and then decide which one will come first. This is what I learned and it has so far prevented any jewelry regrets.
Congratulations! What suits your taste? Do you want to look mainly at beautiful 14k yellow gold gleaming on you, or white diamonds, or a killer emerald, or a station necklace in mother of pearl? Perhaps think of the elements that will give you pleasure and choose the jewelry that speaks that language. (I am not at all one for the mainstream branded options, and don't feel that's the universe you need to confine yourself to.)

Maybe jewellery, but something you can wear everyday to work. A necklace that can can kept under wraps (inside clothes) if needed or a bracelet that doesn't need worrying about.
