Are the product care instructions (like don’t touch your products with hand cream, sanitizer, perfume or alcohol) only for vachetta leather or the actual canvas as well? A drop of nacho cheese may have landed on my monogram key pouch hehe *laughs nervously*

Nacho cheese? Lol! Is that the same as hand sanitizer? And yes, those products are not recommended for canvas. It will stain and dry out the canvas. Nacho cheeese? Mild soap and water will do the trick!

I’ve found coated canvas and coated leather (epi leather, epsom leather or saffiano leather) to be relatively more durable than the equivalent of vachetta. And, my latest accident was food on craie (off white) espsom which was quickly and completely wiped clean. I think if you got it off quickly and it looks okay, you will be okay. If my bag is in the proximity of food, like on my lap, I do try to sling my napkin over it.

Yes, you should keep anything alcohol-based away from your bag in general. Of course it’s difficult not to touch your bag after using hand sanitiser at the moment, particularly, but I just make sure my hands are well dry of it before handling my items. As for cleaning, I’ve been using alcohol and fragrance-free baby wipes for years and never had any issues. Something like nacho cheese will wipe right off coated canvas!

The trick with cheese and ketchup, etc… is to wipe them off immediately. With anything you can grab. Get the baby wipe too as soon as you can, but first is to get it off with anything you can pick up around you. These foods are way more acidic than we usually think.
