Problems with my Tiffany Signature ring

I ended up returning my Tiffany signature ring today.......

the black enamel started to chip off......the sales associate returned it with no problems but I was a little put off she told me this ring was not meant to be worn as a "everyday" ring......I thought maybe they should've told me that when I bought it.....

Here is the story behind the ring: One day back in early summer my boyfriend at the time was trying to find out what size ring I wore because he was shopping for engagement rings and trying to surprise me.....so we went in the store and he acted like he was just buying me something little that day......but what he was really doing was buying me the Tiffany ring so he could find out what size ring I wore so he could buy the engagement ring in the right size. He then proposed in July.

so if any of you happen to have this ring ~ beware of the chipping problem.....

again, it's just an everyday casual ring......but i thought you should all know the problems I have experienced

Thanks for the heads up! What a sweet story about your fiance trying to buy you a "little something" to figure out what your ring size is! Do you have pics of your e-ring up in the forum?

I would think that a ring like that would be okay for everyday wear That's not cool at all! Tiffany items should be more durable, esp for the price and name you are paying for (or at least I would think/hope so).

This is what I wrote in that post:

Here is my new engagement ring......

He proposed the night of July 4th in Paris. He was going to ask me to marry him when we were laying in the grass at the Eiffel Tower but with all the World Cup excitement going on there he didn't think it was very romantic.

So on the way back to the hotel we passed the ferris wheel in front of the Louvre and he suggested we get on......about the first circle around he asked me to marry him

The inside band is engraved with our initials ~ and it says: "Share with me 1 love one lifetime forever and for always"

We both love the Phantom of the Opera and he used the words from the song "All I ask of you" when they both sing to each other "Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime"

I'm sorry I wish I could take better pictures....I tried all the settings on the camera.

Sorry I don't have all the spec's on the ring.......my ring size is 5.5

but jeesh.. not an everyday ring??

so that means.. you wear it every so often.. and don't notice that it chipped a year later.. because you only wore it a few times..? thats ridiculous.
