well, switzerland IS expensive, but LV is relatively less expensive!!!
speedy 25 (mono, damier): CHF 665.- = USD 551
speedy 30 (mono, damier): CHF 695.- = USD 576
mono trouville (and alma): CHF 1000.- = USD 829
batignolle (reg): CHF 790.- = USD 654
mono/damier cles: CHF 165.- = USD 137
manhattan PM: CHF 1560.- = USD 1293

so americans should definitely visit LV while in switzerland, and the prices are including the sales tax!

Manila is expensive than Malaysia. I visited the only LV shop there at Greenbelt shopping mall in Feb 2007. Bangkok is cheaper than Malaysia because tourist can claimed back 7% VAT at airport, I have visited 2 LV shop in Bangkok which are Gaysorn and Emporium in Sept 2006. Later I will go to LV shop at Hanoi, Vietnam in this coming July 2007. Yeah !!!!!!

Normally I found that Malaysia prices are calculate in such way : LV official website , refer to the UK prices, please see the formula below :

{UK price X 7 X 1.1 = Malaysia LV price}

eg. speedy 30 monogram canvas
UK price in website is 310 pound sterling
7 is exchange rate (1 pound sterling = RM7)
1.1 means up 10% (tax)

therefore :
{310 X 7 X 1.1 = RM2400.00}
so, speedy 30 mono canvas in Malaysia is : RM2400.00 ( I just bought one in Malaysia )

just a reminder, when Karman was doing the calculations those are all for provinces outside of Quebec. Here it's actually 6%GST and 7.5%PST/QST however, this is NOT equal to 13.5% because Quebec's PST/QST is ON TOP of GST :yes:

eg. a bag costs 1000$
if calculate with 13.5%, we get a total of 1135$CAD

However, in Montreal it's really: 1000$ X 1.06 X 1.075 = 1139.50$CAD which is slightly more... (i hate the government....did I mention how much money they *steal* from us in our income taxes?!?!?? Quebec is the 2nd worst.....lol)
