I'm in the market for one of these...not vintage but nice preowned, say 5 or so years old and in great shape. What do you think I'd have to budget for a bag like this? I'd like to see if I have enough in my hope chest yet to realistically buy one!
Your help is much appreciated!

For example, I found this on let-trade...this is obviously togo, not box. Do you think that it is reasonable to find one in the same range? The only one that I found in box so far was about $1k higher and I'm wondering if that is too much for a preowned Kelly?:confused1:

The one in let-trade is a retourne which is about 1k less than sellier. Not sure if the one you found in box is retourne or sellier, but if it's sellier, they are usually priced higher. I think for a nice 35cm kelly in box in non vintage condition, you will be looking at a 5k area. The 3.5-4k kellys are either 32cm or really vintage in 35cm...and not really in the condition that you would want. I know the retail on the 35cm is extremely high, so, if you found one for ~5k, in very good condition, I would say it's priced at market. Not too high, not too low. Good luck! We'll keep our eyes peeled out for you.

thanks so much HM. Very helpful!
(oh, and for a 35, I'm definitely looking for a retourne).

um... If it a souple then I would say around 4.5k ish, especially for a lighter color box. On eBay that is. If it is off eBay then it would be a couple hundred less. In a consignment store I would say add 1k on top of that. Sellier is def more expensive. Maybe 1k more? I see a lot more souple 35 than sellier though...

thanks xx. Is darker color box more or less expensive? I'm definitely more of a darker color kind of girl...except for noisette. Love that color!

From what I have seen so far, darker colors are more expensive, especially in box. Lighter box are more probed to color loss and change due to sunlight (my dear monkey told me that when I first joined here. Hi monkey!!!). Darker color box, on the other hand, does not have the same problem. HTH!!!

So... What do you have on your mind?

Have you seen this? $4050 (Addition: This is a sale item)

IMO that one from The Perfect Red Box is really lovely, BUT I'd ask for a photo of the goldstamp, so you can see the S (sale) mark -- in case it bothers you. price looks OK to me, for a 35 cm. i'd bet this is the one you're looking for Rockerchic!

That's a gorgeous Kelly but it just totally galls me that the seller doesn't show a picture of the H stamp which inlcudes the "S" stamp. The 2nd pic and last pic are the same so there was space to add it. I wonder if it has the numbers beside the "S"? How can what is supposed to be reputable seller feel it's OK not to show a picture of that stamp. :confused1:

I agree. I know the S stamp would bother me as well.

Yep, I only noticed the auction said "sale item" only after reading it a few times. Not at first glance.

Wow it has been BINed. Did you do it, RC? :yahoo:
