Ok, so I just got my first black togo 35 cm birkin and now I want more, lol. Any idea how much an ostrich 30 or 35 cm birkin is? I am dying for the blue de prusse one...

Also, for those of you who are the lucky owners ostrich birkins, how is the wear and tear?

Thanks so much!

ostrich is wonderful as it is understated and long lasting--i have owned bags in it in blue roi, black, etoupe and violine. but--i really am not sure i would buy it again. the quality of hermes ostrich is very inconsistent these days and ostrich fades -severely. i have seen brand new pieces in the store faded by the store lights

Ostrich wears well, and I have no issues with them. I have not gone for light colours in Ostrich but have friends who own them. Discolouration of handles is very common but that's part and parcel of owning Ostrich. If you do not wish to see discolouration, keeping to dark colours is a good idea.

I like how Ostrich holds up in shape. Ostrich never slouches. (not even when it's alive)

I think Ostrich handles the rain very well, I always make sure I have a raincoat with me , but its amazing how it copes better than other leathers, its so light and tough
