I've been eyeing a vintage (1965) Rolex Ladies' Oyster Perpetual, which is priced at $1,400. I have no idea if this is just a fair price, overpriced or a good deal. Anyone could at least give me a price bracket for said Rolex watch. TIA!

I'm not sure, maybe search online for websites that specialize in Rolex collectors, I know I've seen some before. I'd love to see a pic of the one you're thinking about though.........

you think I'd go for it? The seller is willing to have it authenticated before purchasing and is open for some negotiations but dunno how much I should go. Thanks!

-Have them get an appraisal to go with it, the best way to authenticate. I haven't bought pre-owned Rolexes that old, but I think you should try to knock it down a bit (maybe 1000?) Go low- can always go up but can't go down, LOL!

In what condition is the crystal (it won't be sapphire, of course), and can it still be replaced? Are parts available for repair if need be? I don't know diddley about vintage Rolex, but these are some of my thoughts.

There is a watch forum called Timezone (don't have the URL), you can get good information there.

There is a specific Rolex forum I used to be on, but I can't remember then name. Maybe you can google it. Through it I found a very reputable reseller, and I am getting my 18K gold Submariner/Black Dial next week!:yahoo:

Chessmont, thanks for the advice! That helps!
BTW, congrats on you submariner! Nice! Please post pics once you have it.:smile1:

Oh, now I remember the Rolex Forum: The Ultimate Rolex Forum, "TURF", you could google it and see if you can register. After not being on it for ages, I couldn't get in with my old password and username, but maybe they changes things to the forum in the time I wasn't there.
If you can get in there, I think there is an answer to almost any Q's you might have.

Good luck! I'll bet they can tell you what kind of price range is reasonable.
