Price changes on Cartier's gold

Does it reflect on the actual gold prices? Or does it only go up? Has there ever been a price decrease?

There was a price decrease in the UK recently - earlier this year I think. My rose gold Cartier love bracelet was priced at £6,000 (I think this was when gold prices were up at $2,000) and the bracelet price was recently reduced to £5,650. My SA told me it was a combination of gold price and exchange rate changes.

There was a price decrease a few years ago in the US. However, prices are now beyond the old pre-decrease prices. Also the decreases tend to be rare.
