I love a camera bag and the Trocadero has caught my eye

I like the simplicity of the style and the crossbody is a must.

I have read that there can be issues with stickiness with the pockets however.

can I ask how your Trocaderos are holding up? Any reccs on where to get a good preloved one?

I have a black Epi and a monogram - both size 27. I bought them both preloved from Japan so they both had the sticky pocket issue. I followed the advice in the ‘rescue club’ to use unscented baby wipes to remove the sticky lining back to the base cotton underneath. It’s a messy job (have a bag handy to throw the wipes into and perhaps wear latex gloves) but very simple and effective. Both pockets on both bags are now useable as I removed all of the stickiness. A word of warning, it’s a lot easier on the Epi than on the monogram. I bought the Epi first and it was so easy I got a bit carried away with the mono - I have darkened the outside corner vachetta slightly while doing the external pocket.
let us know how you get on! If you do a search for Trocadero on the ‘bags in action’ thread, I’m sure you’ll come across a few including mine.

I managed to snag a Trocadero 27 from
A trusted Japan reseller.

I am thrilled with the condition considering how much I paid. Pockets and canvas are immaculate the vachetta has a lovely patina not perfectly even but much better in person than in pics

I need to find some threads on how to condition it or take care ofit given it is a mix of canvas and vachetta.

maybe I should just Google?
Any tips on how to keep pockets on good order much appreciated

That would be amazing thank you
So I went to LV. My SA said she can’t guarantee the interior Lining will be replaced for free, but she thinks it should be. If they do charge me it will be $360 for the lining of both pockets to be replaced. I’ll know in about 6 weeks. She said it happens with change of temperature and there isn’t anything that can be done to really prevent it on bags that were made with that material.

To replace all of the vachetta it would be an additional $730. I’ll do that next but only if the lining is free.

thankyou so much for the update fortunately I am in a cool climate here so I am hoping to avoid any damage to the lining.

the vachetta is in good condition as it has already achieved a patina am tossing up whether to condition it or leave it be

I’ve found acetone nail polish to be extremely useful. You have to of course be very careful but it gets the icky sticky right out. Actually did a bag this weekend and it dried without a smell. However I did a small amount, was very mindful to be careful and allowed it to air out each time. Did this in cycles until the gross parts were gone. Not for the faint of heart though.
