I've been wanting a monogram speedy 25 for awhile now and I saw a recent price increase on them and it'll be over $800 including tax here which I can't justify spending that much on the smallest speedy. Plus, the pre-owned one I want is made in France. Would you guys get a preowned speedy?

I would the quality may be better........Check out this seller on ebay... they are pre-loved but in not to bad shape.

madam-j

Her items are authentic.

I just got a Ebene one for a great deal!! from another seller.

The deals are out there just have to hunt them down.

Happy Hunting!!

Thanks. I prefer newer looking speedies. I found a good one at a good deal. I have a hard time using bags I purchase new at the boutique because I get paranoid of it getting damaged lol. I think I'll go with preowned because it'll put my mind at ease about the bag not in new condition so I'll be more inclined to use it more if that makes any sense.

Nothing wrong in finding a bargain if you can! Just be smart and do your research and have it checked out on tpf before buying.

You can put the money you saved towards something else later!!

For mono, I don't mind a preloved one provided the condition is very good and the patina is clean and even. I can't stand blackened vachetta!

If it were azur, I would get it brand new as I am very particular about vachetta on azur looking clean. The mildest stains and brown spots inherited from someone else would drive me nuts.

I agree. There are so many dirty speedys out there on preloved sites...

That being said, many preloved new-ish looking speedys are pretty close to the actual retail price. I would say it also depends on how much you are actually saving. For instance, if you are only saving say, 10%, I would probably just spring for a new one. I'd pay the extra to have the full LV experience, with a new everything - dustbag, shopping bag, bringing it home, or if you are ordering online, the unboxing, etc... And you'll know 100% without a doubt that it's absolutely authentic.

I'm not against preloved at all - if you find a great deal, definitely go for it!

Good luck with whatever you decide! Excited to see your reveal! :smile1:

My first LV bag was a speedy 25 nd used. I purchased it off ebay a wonderful seller that worked with me to make 2 payments on this bag. I was a single mom so running out (then 2003) and dropping 600+$ on a bag didnt work for me. This bag I got was in amazing condition.. price right for me and I didnt even once think *why did I do this*

I later bought an azur bag used, hardly used... it saved me money.. Saving money is always a good thing. When I bought my speedy 30 again used. I would sooner have several good used bags then one brand new one.. imo! In fact when I look back on my collection... I bought 3 items BRAND new from the store.. Everything else was bought used.

If you can save some money, and its agood deal, authentic, trusted seller.. I say go for it!!!

I like the pre-owned because the quality (to me) is better than the newer items. The only exception to that is my Mon Mono piece, since that's made personally for each buyer. Good Luck deciding!
