Hi everyone. I need some helping deciding whether to get this bag for this price? $6950 for this 11 series bag in medium. It doesn't come with a box, authentication card. It seems to be in decent condition other than the inner flap has moderate amount dents. Is this a fair price?
Thanks.

Hi! I feel like that’s about right. You might be able to find one in similar condition for a tad less or one in slightly better condition for the same price, but this seems like a fair price. The quilting is still quite puffy, which is often not the case with lambskin classic flaps in the resale market. And the corners look pretty good - there are a few dents here and there but nothing major, at least not at first glance. And I wouldn’t worry too much about the dents in the inner flap - those are almost impossible to avoid unless you REALLY baby your bag.

If you want to give yourself piece of mind, take a look at some of the online resellers (fashionphile, the realreal, etc) and look though their medium classic flaps for comparison. The photos and condition reports on the realreal are notoriously terrible so it’s hard to truly compare there, but fashionphile has plenty of photos and offer pretty thorough condition analysis (although they are often a bit pricier). I did a quick search on fashionphile and i didn’t see any that were quite like yours - some were in worse condition for a little less money and there were a few in “excellent” condition that were quite fabulous, some even came with a full set, but they were all about $1,000 more. Ex: https://www.fashionphile.com/p/chanel-lambskin-quilted-medium-double-flap-black-1295362

Also something to keep in mind: if this rumored November price increase actually happens, I’m willing to bet we’ll see the prices on the resale market slowly ratchet up a bit too.

The bottom line is I recommend you go with your gut. You never want to regret a purchase but you also never want to regret passing on a bag that you can’t get out of your head, so give yourself time to decide. Try to spend some time looking around online and I’ll bet your heart will tell you what to do. Good luck with your decision!

As an aside, @onlyk i want to go shopping with you! You got an amazing deal!!!

Thank you for your thorough comment. I really want the 24k plated hardware so it is even more difficult to come across one. I think I will go for it.

Keep looking, I think you can get one a little cheaper.
I have seen newer and cheaper ones from Instagram consignment stores. My family is not allowing me to buy from small consignment stores since most of them are final sales. Kind of hard to get a decent one with good hardware from those big sellers for less than 7k.

Just for reference, I just stumbled across this medium classic flap on TRR this morning but it’s caviar with SHW instead of lambskin with GHW. The price looks pretty decent for its condition and it comes with a full set.

Hello,
I believe the price is a bit higher given the condition and the production year. I am trying to sell my caviar medium flap (2001) and I am getting quite low quotes. Either the big consignment stores are ripping me off or the demand is not that high nowadays.

I noticed recently FP is having lots of "10% off" discounts. Almost every other month, may be people are not buying much these days? You can definitely get a better deal.
