I have that bag and it’s my favourite, it is also pre-serial sticker. I don’t personally see the problem in buying a bag without the sticker if it would never originally come with a sticker :flowers: As with any pre-loved bag it should be authenticated first though! Zeko’s is great for authenticating Chanel.
The prices for this style are truly all over the map because some sellers price it below the classic flap since it is not as sought after, while others price it the same because it is so similar, and even some price them higher than the classic flap because it is a rarer style. It really depends on where it is being sold. I’ve seen them range from about $3500 to the rare one reaching $8000 even for bags in similar condition to the one you listed above. I don’t think those latter ones sell easily though. Mine was a more average cost of about $5500 a year ago, but it was sold in very good condition. You can find them for the better deals on eBay under auction as well as “buy it now.” Vestiaire Collective prices them much higher.

I have the same dilemma, but it is my mom's bag that my cousin who worked at Nieman's purchased for her in the early 2000s or late 90s. It needs some TLC and I might get it authenticated, but it its authenticity wouldn't matter to me as much as it would if I was buying from a reseller.

'm not selling it. It reminds me of my mom when she was a glamorous and trend setting woman in the 70s to 10s.
