These are wildly different vibes/styles. Without knowing your overall style preferences and desires for a shoe, it's hard to say. Some people would never be caught dead in the monolith styles. (I like them, but I veer more edgy.)

Having just tried these on last weekend, what I can say is that the monoliths have an incredibly light heel. I have the similar Gucci loafers, and they feel like bricks on my feet compared to the Prada monoliths. I ended up buying the chocolate brushed platform heels, but the construction on all of the shoes I tried was really nice.

I wear chunky soles, but the monoliths are looking tired, the second hits the mainstream trend but can be still classic.

The Monolith ones are the epitome of the current fashion and will therefore become obsolete a lot sooner. But if you really like them and/or don't mind the cost, go for it, of course.

I'm more edgy (the luxury bag I carry the most is the Prada reedition) but if I'm buying something at this price point, they should be something I can wear for years. I like both but the chocolate brushed will be unlikely to date, right?
