I have a few questions for anyone who owns or is familiar with the iconic fairy bag from 2008.

1. How would you describe the original background color..... white or more of an off white/ beige? I just purchased a used one in good condition but i was a little surprised the color was much more beige than i was expecting as it looked brighter in photos and I'm wondering if it darkened over time from dirt, sunlight, elements, whatever.

2. I heard these bags were reissued after first edition was found to have ink bleed, especially if got wet. Is there a way to determine if a bag is from the original issue or second?

3. Has anyone successfully cleaned exterior of this bag without causing any damage? Thank you for any help!

I have a fairy tote but the background is yellow. I've used leather CPR on it with no problem, but mine has no colour bleed at all so I'm assuming it was produced after they fixed the issue.
This is pure conjecture, but I would imagine that the majority of the first issue bags would show some bleeding. Unless it was pristine and had never been outside.

I would say it’s kind of like the white you would expect from natural white wool…? Definitely not a pristine white.
As for the other two questions, I don’t really have an answer… I just remember that the white background items came out first, so perhaps those are likely troubled. The fairies with the other background colours came out a bit after so maybe by then it was fixed? This is pure speculation from me though.
I currently have one on repair (I wrecked the lining), if I get any info for care I can let you know.

The white first season ones had the colour issues, as far as I know that was corrected for the next season.
So far neither my pink one or white one have bled. But I’ve been careful about them not getting wet. I had a white fairy wallet too, which got worn out and bled in no time… it was a very nice collection, just not made for wearing…? I remember they also made shoes with the same leather and print as the bags… can’t imagine those holding up well…!

The shoes are super cute though!

Here's a Bleeder Bag that was recently sold on eBay if you've not seen one before.

Yes that is similar to the bag i purchased though I'm lucky mine doesn't really have much bleeding. I was more curious about the original background color as the bag i received is much more beige than i was expecting (appeared brighter/more white in photos I've seen online). Thanks for sharing

I have another question about the fairy bags… do they all have the numbered tag on the interior? I’m considering one and I don’t think it has one. Does anyone know this for sure?
