I’m considering getting a Prada Cahier in white but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. For any of you that own a Cahier, does it wear well? Does the hardware fade easily?

I’ve checked the pre-loved market, it looks like there are only Cahier with Saffino leather on the flap head, plus there are not a lot of white bags for sale. While the resale value for these versions doesn’t seem very high, I have no idea what the resale value for this all smooth leather Cahier edition is going to be.

I really love the white all smooth leather look of this current Cahier, so honestly I don’t intend to sell. I’m just trying to rationalize any purchase I make, especially for a bag almost $5k!

Did you end up getting it? It is such a beautiful bag. I do not have the white but I have a small black one, just be aware with this type of leather it can easily be dented, so be careful when you store it. The hardware has held up nicely for me after 3 years but there are some micro scratches which is not noticeable unless you look really up close. Min does not fit a lot but that is because I have a small one. You are right though the resale is not the best compared to other brands/bags. Bags are an investment, I always say I rather have 1 or 2 luxury pieces that I absolutely love then a bunch of cheap bags that I end up throwing away. Since you do not intend on selling it I would bother worry about resale value it would be a bag to pass down to daughters, grand daughters etc

Hi there, I haven’t got it yet as I’m still weighing other options. I just saw the Dior Bobby frame bag in white in store today and it’s so elegant! I also love the Celine Besace Cuir Triomphe in beige. I admit I still I can’t stop thinking about the Prada Cahier, it’s so unique. I’m glad you love your bag and yes, these bags are more than just bags themselves.
