I would like to dip my toes in premier handbag territory and can't decide if its smarter to go with an everyday bag like a Hermes Halzan or a gorgeous less practical bag like a medium Lady Dior. I have RM, Coach, MBMK, Brahmin so really have a good variety of styles. Just wanting 1 premier bag to add to my collection.

Try them on if you can. Pick the one that sings to you, because if you love a bag that much, you'll find ways to wear it. I've personally seen the Lady Dior worn so well casually by many members here, if that helps. Seems practical enough!

Go for the bag that makes your heart sing, even if you won't use it as often, especially given that you have an existing collection. I'd rather spend money on bags I love. The bags I carry for necessity are the ones I am least willing to spend on.

After years of buying and rethinking, I've found that all my bags have to meet both the "I love it" and "I can easily use it" tests. And, honestly, I think a so called practical / work horse bags should make our hearts scream with joy as much or more than special bags because we use them so much. I want my big happy with me every day - not sitting in a closet.

So, consider what type / color or bag you use most and choose a premium bag that you LOVE that will fit this type.

And I echo Breadnbrie - the Lady Dior can be used casually as well as professionally and for dress up. Usually the size and color may restrict you a teeny bit. But just about any bag can be used any time with the right outfit and attitude. Good luck!

Thanks for all the feedback. Bags that catch my eye don't always turn out to be practical for the life I have vs the one in my head. I like both bags for different reasons so I'm taking my time and doing research.
