Poshmark has recently been flooded with fake, scammy listings for Louboutins. No idea whether they're going after other brands as well, but every day there are at least a dozen new scam listings.
Things to look out for:
New accounts with randomly-generated names selling one single item in their closet.
Stolen pictures of rare & desirable styles priced well below what you'd expect.
No responses to questions.
If you fall for one of these (it happens to us all...) they will send a (presumably) empty box to a random address in your zipcode. USPS tracking will mark the shipment as Delivered, but you'll be empty handed. Poshmark will eventually refund your money, but the scammers will also keep their proceeds, newly incentivized to do it again.
Reminder to all (including myself) that if it looks too good to be true, IT IS!

You're SO right—Poshmark and other online markets are filled with everything from mass-produced "inspired by designer" products to outright counterfeit. Looking through sites like Poshmark, Etsy, and eBay for legit items is such a slog because of all the counterfeit.

Poshmark probably doesn't want to shut down counterfeits entirely either (maybe just too much trouble or costly to their bottom line), so they've joined a coalition with other online retailers to stop seller transparency requirements.
Poshmark et al say they don't want transparency requirements to hurt small businesses that use their platforms. Yet, I can't help but think legit small businesses wouldn't have anything to worry about if they're not dealing in mass market counterfeits.
