Hi all,

I was just on the Hermes Web Finds thread, and some of us were remarking on the number of Hermes items popping up on Portero. This reminded me that I have several items to sell--I've been putting off taking photos and creating the Ebay listings, I think, mostly because I have zero feedback as a seller (about 40 feedbacks as a buyer, 100%), and I possibly wouldn't even buy from me, lol. Also, the chance of me getting a bad buyer is off-putting.

So Portero's 30% cut is beginning to look good to me. I have a couple older Evelynes and two unused bags (not birkin/kelly), so I'm thinking that recouping at least a good part of what I paid may only be likely if I used Portero. Plus, it takes out the possibility of a bad buyer.

Has anyone had any experiences--good or bad--consigning bags with them?

Thanks in advance.

I considered Portero awhile back when I thought about selling some BV bags, but if I recall, on the Discuss Reseller thread, there was someone who said that it took a long time for them to process and actually list her bags. I don't have any actual experience with them as a buyer or a consigner. Good luck!

Wow - I was wondering the exact same thing TODAY! This will probably get moved to the shopping section, but I hope people who've had experience with them will chime in. (And then I hope I remember to check back. Brain is like a seive lately.

personally, I think their bags are over-priced....i tried to buy one once, a rare chartruese birkin, and couldn't get ANY photos of the corners of the bags....so why would i spend retail or more on a used bags with terrible service...so looking at it from a consignee's perspective, i think they'd have to demonstrate exceptional customer service to warrant taking 30% and i've never heard anyone here in the H forum rave about them, jut food for thought! I adore Nancy @ Kaleidoplace, hands down a fab experience and it won't cost you 30%!

They sold a few bags for me when they first opened and back then I set the price and they just sold it for higher and kept the difference. It was slow though and took them forever to send me a contract on the most expensive bag

I have used them to sell most of my LV bags. The first time I used them, they were incredibly slow but, more recently, the service has improved and I found it to be much easier that trying to sell the bags myself of ebay.

Chloe, I think you should try to sell your bags yourself... at least one.... so you get into the seller's experience, feedback etc....

Good luck with you sales !

As to answer your question, I have no experience with Portero selling my bags, But I have experience with them buying from me : NON PAYING BIDDER. How does that sound ?
