I'm getting my first luxury designer bag (yay!) and I'm torn between the blue Gucci bamboo shopper (large size) and the deep red 2Jours (medium or "regular"). I want it for my everyday office bag and I've been leaning towards the bamboo for a while now but I've been recently swayed by the 2Jours because:

1. I found the deep red 2Jours on sale (the blue is also gorgeous but not on sale)
2. It's not as heavy as the bamboo
3. I'm only 5'4" and the bamboo is pretty big. More of bag to take traveling than an everyday and the drop is pretty low even if I adjust it to the shortest strap.
4. I do like the slouchy look sometimes but the Bamboo looks a bit too slouchy given its size (I'd definitely get inserts).

BUT I do just think the bamboo handles are just such a unique touch. And I've heard only tremendous things on the quality of the bag. Which is more suitable for a young professional!? Any thoughts welcomed!

I have the bamboo shopping in the smaller size and I am very happy with it. It's very functional with separate pockets and zippers for different things. I wouldn't go with large as it's heavy and too slouchy.

I love the way the Gucci bamboo looks but it sounds like the 2jours is more practical for your needs right now (everyday work bag). Why not get that once first, and then the bamboo later. You can then have more time to figure out which size is better for you and how you want to use it.

Thank you all! Ended up with the deep red 2JOURS! They had the Ocean colour which was also incredible but I think the red is more neutral. The savings was just too compelling and it is indeed more practical than the bamboo for everyday use. Definitely eyeing the bamboo for the future!
