So I have a black on black toy loulou and a black with SHW small envelope bag. They serve similar purposes and I am looking to sell one. Based on aesthetics alone, which would you keeep? I love them both but it’s redundant. I love the look of the small envelope and the shiny silver hardware however; the casual nature of the toy loulou and its versatility is appealing. Unpopular opinion though … the toy loulou doesn’t feel as luxe to me. It’s adorable and squishy but the envelope feels more luxe to me. What do you think?

Which bag do you use more and works more with your lifestyle?
I would’ve said toy loulou because it can be more casual but it holds the same amount. It probably has a little more wiggle room for extra tiny items. However, my phone is so tight getting in and out. I’ve found it annoying to struggle pulling it out and putting it back when in a rush (which I’m always in haha!) I like that the envelope bag has the option to stick it in the back pocket even if it is upright. It doesn’t look great to always put it there but it’s handy in a pinch when you are juggling things. I’m leaning towards envelope. I think the silver hardware has a rocker chic look that can go casual if done right and my casual look is a neat casual so hoping I can pull it off.

This is a conundrum for sure. I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but I went through something similar. I had the small envelope and sold it to fund the toy loulou in the same combo that you have. At first I missed the envelope, but then I got a metal strap for the toy loulou and found that it filled that void I thought the envelope filled. To me, the metal straps are a little dressier, and being able to take the leather strap off that it comes with and put on something different was exactly what I needed. It changed it up just enough. Looking forward to hearing what you decide to do. Good luck!

Just wanted to make sure I was picturing the right bags (I was lol). Personally, I like the Loulou bc I love that soft smooth leather and I think the black on black is actually more "rocker chic" if that's what you're going for - plus will match with anything versus worrying about having to match the silver hardware (I am currently struggling with this dilemma myself on 2 different bags).

I do think the exterior slip pocket is a great feature, but overall I prefer smooth over grainy leather and think the envelope looks a little busy with pattern going in multiple directions. Just my opinion

I agree with everything you said - I keep changing my mind because I know how versatile the toy loulou is. I bought a bunch of fun straps for it including chain and canvas guitar straps. I then peek over at my envelope bag and just lust after it haha. Surprisingly my toy loulou isn’t getting any interest and I refuse to sell it for a loss. Who knows what will end up happening. It might not even be much of an option. I briefly had the envelope listed and it got some interest. I would make more from selling the envelope but it’s just so damn gorgeous. A conundrum indeed my friend!

Yes, the black on black does give the look I want - I agree! Ugh I love them both. I do love the triquilt but I can see your point that it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

It sounds like you love the envelope and you're trying to make the toy loulou work for you, so you'll regret letting the envelope go. I prefer the toy loulou (I have the small and love it and I'm considering adding a toy in white), but I think you should keep the envelope if you can only pick one. It looks like it's a lot more versatile, as it works for casual or for dressy occasions. The toy loulou feels appropriate as a day time bag to me, even if I swap it with a chain strap.

Ah the voice of wisdom right here. That is exactly what is happening. I relisted my toy loulou. I’ll only sell it for a good price. I can’t part with the envelope. It’s too gorgeous. I have sellers remorse on other items and it’s the worst.

I agree with @Tina1010 that you clearly love the envelope more, and while I love my toy Loulou, I think the envelope is more of a classic forever style. Good luck with your listing!

Still torn … I listed both and submitted them to fashionphile. If the envelope can sell for significantly more, I might opt for it. I loveeee the envelope but the toy “feels” better and more natural when worn. I think the stiffness of the envelope is what is tripping me up. They can both be casual but I think that I would reach for the toy loulou more. I don’t have weddings or formal events to go to so the toy Loulou is plenty fancy for date night with different chain options. I keep changing my mind I know
