Hi All, After seeing the PB article on the new Polene Nodde, I decided to pre-order two: one black, one cognac, both with the contrast stitching. The black one arrived today! So here are my unboxing photos and first impressions, including comparison shots to other Polene bags and to a Gucci bag that's a similar size.

CAVEAT: The contrast stitching in these photos appears far whiter than it does in reality. In actuality, the stitching is a light beige color that works well with the black leather and should go with the cognac too (have not yet received that one).

So... some unboxing photos:

Now some photos to give you an idea of what fits: The Nodde will hold my Ferragamo wallet (compact, not my long wallet), my sunglasses in their case, keys, a lipstick and some tissues (not shown). My phone would fit in as well but of course I was using it to take the photos. However my sunglasses case is quite bulky, so with that and the fully loaded wallet, everything fit but it was a tight squeeze. I found that it fit more easily my mini Ferragano wallet, a BV card holder, sunglasses (same case), lipstick, tissues and phone. Could also fit in a compact comb if necessary.

So... those are the reveal photos! Now for the first impressions:

Yes, it is a small bag. It just holds what I could fit into my Gucci/Disco Blondie. The Blondie is a slightly wider bag so it holds my compact wallet and bulky sunglasses case better than the Nodde. But I could still get the same essentials into the Nodde.

The leather is a box leather, which quite smooth but I think it will handle normal wear quite well. I don't think scratches will be a big problem. I have a Polene Numero Six (also discontinued) in similar leather and it has worn well.

The zipper top closure works smoothly enough although I expect it to become smoother with use. The strap is fine ... when I tried it on immediately after unboxing, I felt it was a little too short but it adjusted fairly easily to a comfortable shoulder bag strap length. I have not tried it in cross-body mode.

The inside is suede but it is not fully lined. The design means you can get a tiny peak into the bag contents but not enough to give away what you're actually looking at. It doesn't detract from the bag's attractiveness.

First Impressions: A well-made, good-looking bag that is comfortable and has a distinct appearance. Excellent value for the price I paid (380 euros). The Gucci Blondie, in comparison, was 1500 euros (not complaining!) Do I wish it were larger? Yes. But I can certainly use it as is. However, if a larger version becomes available, I will probably go for it!

Hope this info was a little helpful to anyone considering a Nodde purchase!

Thank you for your detailed review and comparison pictures. This bag is on my wish list for sure. Can you do some mod shots? Would love to see what it looks like for scale.

Hi it seems to me the zipper opening is as slim as Dix? Can you pull up the sides for bigger opening?

Thank you for the in-depth review and photos. She is a stunner.
Are you only going to keep one? Has the cognac one arrived yet?
The Nodde looks like a very sophisticated going out bag. I put it on my list but can't decide on a colour.

I happened to just receive some from my friend in Paris! Nodde modshots.

Thank you for these! It’s so helpful to see what a bag looks like on a real person rather than a model, where the bag is often photographed at odd angles and poses.

It’s a nice size and looks great on your friend. I love the contrast stitching on the black.
