Hello everyone:
I just bought the Pochette Métis in monogram, but now I’m considering the empreinte version in noir. Seeing as it’s only a few hundred $ more, price isn’t a huge issue.

Can anyone who has had the empreinte version for more than 1-2 years, let me know how the leather has held up? I don’t own any leather versions of LV bags so I don’t have any experience with that type of leather. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

I just recently posted wear and tear photos of my PM in the empreinte noir. I've had it for a couple of years, it's been my daily bag for over a year, and I absolutely love it.

I highly recommend the empreinte!

Hi -- I've had my PM in Navy Empreinte for 18 months and it looks brand new! Not a scratch or a mark on it. I have another bag in black empreinte that I've used a ton and it also looks brand new. As my friend says, the empreinte leather "wears like iron"!

I had a monogram pochette metis and sold it to get the empreinte version in Noir. I really did enjoy using the canvas version but it did catch a lot of attention and I wanted something more lowkey. I've had the empreinte Noir for over three years now and it still looks pretty good. The straps have cracking along the glazing which is fine since it isn't peeling and the leather has softened (but not in a bad way). The hardware has fine hairline scratches but not noticeable unless i am staring hard at my bag. I do miss the canvas version from time to time and I am always on the hunt for one in excellent condition and a great price. I guess my advice to you would to be to hold onto your monogram canvas one and save up for an empreinte version.

Thank you for your great advice. I may end up having both but first I have to decide if I’m a crossbody purse kinda girl. I bought the Pochette Métis because part of me has been very curious about what all the fuss is about.

I chose the empriente noir, have had it almost 2 years, and absolutely love it. I rotate my bags every week so not as much use as others and it looks brand new. I always loved the silhouette, but I could never pull the trigger on the canvas versions because it just didn't look right on my short waist. I guess the color can matter depending on your proportions.

I'm trying to make the same decision! In an ideal world, I think I would have both  I would like to have a crossbody bag that can ideally be worn in summer/spring and winter/fall and be casual enough for daily wear, but also look nice when dressed up a bit.

Do you find that you're able to wear the empriente noir in the summer and spring as well? I feel like the leather makes it a bit dressier, which is nice, but I'm not sure how it will pair with my more casual summer clothing and if the black will be too dark for summer clothes (although I live in NYC, so pretty sure black can be worn at all times :giggle:)

I wear my empreinte noir year round!
