Hello everyone,
So I bought two PMs because I desperately wanted to compare them
and wanted to keep one. If you look at the handles, one has a stamp on it (very faint but says Louis Vuitton Paris), and the other one doesn’t.

Any thoughts?

Hi I have the same bag which I arrived a few days ago. Still deciding if she's a keeper or not. I checked mine & it does have the stamp Louis Vuitton Paris on the handle. My one is made in France. Would there be a difference depending on where it was made maybe?

I think the stamped one is made-in France as well. It’s just strange that the one made in the US doesn’t have it.

Also, the one made in France looks very stiff and feels very stiff. How is yours? Maybe we should compare photos.

I checked mine and it does NOT have the stamp on the handle. But it is also made in France (it has a date code to confirm that).

Also, can someone tell me if they think the purse on the left is really off? I like it better as it has more of a sheen to it, but the sides seems to be not as straight as the one on the right.

p.S. they’re both leaning because they’re empty.

I think the one on the left looks better - the embossing is deeper and the leather looks shinier. The sides don't bother me.
Are you sure? The front also looks a bit warped. I don’t know if that’s normal. Can you take a look and give me your opinion?

Sure I will take some pics later today. Mine feels quite soft & squishy & smells amazing. Still can't decide what to do. I'm visiting a store next week so will make my decision then. It's very strange though how some would have the stamp in the handle & others not. Very odd!

Speaking from personal experience I would go with the bag that has the deepest and nicest embossing. Looks like the one on the left to me. I owned a speedy that was more embossed on the back than the front and it drive me crazy. I much preferred the look of the back and usually carried it that way round. I think the overall look of the bag is most important. You won’t notice the sides so much. Which one does your heart prefer? Go with that one.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. It helps to hear everyone’s perspectives on empreinte leather as I’m not familiar with it. It does help having the two to compare as (you’re right) I feel the one on the left looks better in terms of the stamp and sheen. I honestly wish LV could just be consistent so that we (the consumer) wouldn’t have to worry about these things.

One thing I’m worried about, though, is the fact that the nicer looking one does not have the Louis Vuitton Paris stamp on the handle. Should I be concerned?

I'm wondering if the one on the right is perhaps a new bag which is why its stiffer. Maybe the one on the left has been returned once or twice & been handled a lot more.

Yes, the one on the right is brand new as when I ordered it the site said in one of the updates: “the item is being manufactured” or something along those lines. It looks perfect in terms of alignment, and it’s made in France…BUT it’s full and the stamping isn’t as deep as the other one.
