Pls help me decide!

Hi! I’ve recently gotten into watches and prefer them as part of my daily jewelry now. I have the cartier panthere rose gold and Louis cartier tank rose gold with leather strap (manual winding). I don’t mind winding my watch daily as it’s not a hassle to me. I’m looking for a small steel manual or automatic watch as my daily watch.

please feel free to share modelling pics of these watches if you have them, I’ll really appreciate it. I’m v small boned so nothing more than 34mm. I’m currently looking at:
1. JLC rendezvous bracelet with diamonds 29mm
2. JLC reverso bracelet 34mm
3. Cartier ballon bleu 33mm with diamonds
I’m not really leaning towards Reverso now because the watches I have are square and round. Please let me know what you think

Since it seems like you're not too into the Reverso, I'd just take it off your list entirely.

Between 1 (Rendezvous) and 2 (Cartier ballon bleu) that's very much a personal preference. You may get a lot of votes for Cartier because Cartier is very popular on TPF and much more well known in general.

I chose Rendezvous because I love sun/moon phase watches and enjoy seeing them move across the watch. But that's just me.

Maybe think about what you like about each watch that stands out to you? Or why would you chose one of those watches out of any other watch in general? Both are pretty classic pieces IMO and you can't really go wrong. It just has to fit with you aesthetic.

I would love a modelling picture of your watch if you don’t mind. I like the feel of the Rendezvous on me most, what’s troubling is that I think I need a steel bracelet that’s more durable for everyday as compared to gold ones.

But I actually prefer the rendezvous/reverso rose gold in leather or pink gold bracelet the most. Maybe I’ll get them down the road.

What other steel watches would you recommend?

Sorry I don't have any JLC watches. When I said "I chose", I meant that I chose it from your 3 options.

I do like Cartier but I also like IWC. I'm wearing my IWC in my profile pic. Don't remember the size but my love bracelet is a size 16 for a relative size reference.

I agree that steel is much more durable than gold and great for everyday. However, if you prefer the rendezvous/reverso in gold, then don't settle for stainless steel, unless you want buy both the stainless steel and the rose/pink gold versions.

Just something to think about:
Sometimes there are things we think we need, but when we do get it, we end up not reaching for it and still go for our old favorites for one reason or another. If you bought a stainless steel watch, are you sure you want to reach for it on a daily basis?

Most people do advise stainless steel watches for everyday because they are practical and durable. Also, they tend to hold resale value much better than gold. But many others happily wear their gold watches and take the wear and tear as is.
I'm not saying your reasoning is wrong, and this isn't something to be that concerned about. Just make sure that it's not just what think you need but also what you really want.

first of all congratulations, the choices you have are gorgeous, all good brands (JLC a bit better quality wise though). I’d chose Reverso, because it’s a classic and you have 2-1 … however since you have square watches already, the next best would be the other JLC RandezVous, and that’s because the workmanship and quality are hard to beat. JLC make their watches entirely within their house and they do not disappoint!
the Cartier option is so common, not a bad watch but not exciting either

The quality and heritage of JLC as a watchmaker is next level. reversos are so chic, have such an attitude and the Art Deco vibe is too cool. However the Rendezvous looks stunning on you too. Go with your heart. Once I get one more Rolex, I’m moving on to JLC.

HAHA I’m actually going in the opposite situation from you now. I am only starting to appreciate Rolex now, I really like the dark grey datejust 31. I’m not able to get from an AD at all, so have to go through the grey market. I like that it looks different from the usual models I see with mix gold bracelet with white face. I'd love it if it's in grey mother of pearl instead though. Is this combination a good buy or should i go with the diamond markers?

I didn’t buy JLC because I went with Rolexes in 2021. Love WG Rolexes.
