I want to get a bag online that costs me more than 3K, but I can't stomach the fact that I can't choose it personally and also can't see it in person. Anyone has any experience spending a large amount of money on bags online and how's the experience? Will be getting it from ssense.com

Listen to yourself and don't do this. It takes someone who can be comfortable with the very things you "can't stomach." So accept your feelings, and buy in person. Even if it means waiting. You have many anxiety-ridden posts about shopping and considering various brands you haven't seen in person; this must be a truth for you.

It doesn't matter if others have success that way.

Your “large amount of money” may not be another person’s same amount.

The way you describe this is like you’re buying a ghost bag.

Why make yourself sick over buying a handbag?

Speaking from experience I’ve had to return several items to SSENSE, which they sent me in damaged condition. (They always accept the returns promptly though).

Ive also received wrong items from other retailers and poorly described ones from Holt Renfrew.

I would say 20% of orders have had issues but that also means about 80% were fine.

If you are stressing out a lot go the in store route.
If you don’t mind having to possibly return items by mail then online is a good option.

Go for the bag which suits you the best. It not depends on other opinion because everyone have their own views. Go ahead with the stylish bag which brings smile to your face.

It's not about the amount, it's about your threshold. My online threshold so far has been USD 1600 via eBay (Chanel) and Fashionphile (Loewe), but those bags were after many months of research and waiting for the right bag that I was comfortable enough to get. Listen to your gut, and if you have to wait until you can get a bag in person then so be it.

I just purchased a bag from Loewe direct. It shipped from Madrid yesterday via DHL express. I’m always a bit anxious when a package may come when I’m not home, but package theft in my neighborhood is very, very low. I research a bag thoroughly before purchasing and I always buy when there are free returns as well in case I’m not sold on the bag when it arrives.
