This post has inspired me to buy an OPI red shade and I ended up with Love Affair in Red Square...it has shimmer but it's sooo pretty, kind of like LV pomme vernis. I can't wait to get a true, shimmerless red from their line!

Dior vernis Holiday Red is fantastic -- it doesnt chip, and it lasts for ages. Its a great colour too.

I like OPI's St Petersburgundy. With 2 coats, it's a true, blue-based red. Nothing burgundy about it at all!!

Totally agree! With St Petersburgundy, my search for the perfect red was over!

I agree that OPI's The Thrill of Brazil is a great true red. It is definitely an eye catcher. I saw it in a magazine once and ran to Ulta to grab it. I get complements whenever I wear it; it is the can't go wrong essential red.

If you want a 'true red' and not really a blue red, I don't think you can go past OPI's "I'm not really a waitress" or "big apple red". They're both great red-reds (not blue-red or orange-red).
