Please Read- Juicy Dispute Escalated To A Claim By Seller!!

Ok, now I am frustrated and almost sad. I just hung up with PayPal. To bring you up to date....I did not close my dispute (escalated to a claim, thanks to pissy seller). I wanted to talk to a PayPal person before I did. I did not close the "Item Not Received" because I wanted to know ALL of my options before I closed that. PayPal said to make sure the bag was received (I told them it was at my office & I had not seen it yet, and that was why I had not closed the claim). I got to my office, called them and they said that they would manually change it from a INR to a NAD. I was SO meticulous about every last detail. I got home and had an email stating that the claim had been settled amicably by me and was now closed.............I waited for another email...that NEVER came stating that the claim was now a NAD. I waited HOURS. ((2 shots of Jack Daniels, and 35 minutes on hold ))- Another call to PayPal, and another answer. This time the PayPal "specialist" was talking faster than I could listen and the bottom line is that once it is closed, all they can do is REQUEST AN APPEAL!! (Meanwhile the funds have been released to the *&^%$$ seller!). Worst case scenario: I get $200 back (buyers protection), have to pay shipping both ways and send back the handbag. UNfreakingBELIEVABLE! My husband is going to ban me from ebay and site total ignorance. *That is IT for me and ebay!* I will wait until I find exactly what I want at the price I want at a "brick and mortar" store. I could CRY! ( I am definitely going to Nordstrom's tomorrow for retail therapy!)

geniepr, thank you for reminding me. I was SO hoping that I would not have to, but I am headed to my cc company website now to do a charge back.. I will be DAM*ED if I am going to let that seller get away with this! :boxing:

Good Luck! Did you tried to see in your paypal account if you can open a dispute again? I'm sure I read here about someone who did it. I really don't trust the PayPal's representatives that much.

Oh my goodness I know exactly what you are going through. A few months ago I purchased something on Ebay and it was NAD... I was super frustrated, I filed a claim with Paypal and unfortunately the seller I had purchased from was "no longer registered with ebay"... can you believe that?! Paypal never got my money back.... it was devastating I havent ebay'd since.

Princess, any updates on this?
*Sending you a huge positive vibe this will work on your favour!!

I believe, if you file a chargeback with your CC, they will help you!
This happened to me too once, I was sent a fake LV bag and Paypal pretty much didnt even bother helping me, so I went to my CC and told them I received a fake...They got me to fill all the paper works, a proof that it's fake (which of course I can't get from LV since they don't authenticate), so they told me to use the reason NAD,,at the end, I was lucky my CC refunded my monies..
The only regret I have, I didnt leave a neg feedback to warn others in fear of negative retaliation..

I can feel the love! (In here and real life, NOT on ebay or PayPal)

I just hung up (again) with PP. My account said that the claim had been appealed by seller....etc etc. It seems as if NO ONE thing has been completed correctly with this transaction. Being hyper-skeptical at this point I called PP and they said "Sure. let me take care of that for you." THUD!! I could not believe it!! I asked "Take care of what?" Bottom line is that despite my 3 previous phone calls, my claim had NOT been filed, changed, reopened or anything else for that matter. I politely asked him why this phone call would be any different from the previous 3. (Not his fault, but sadly he was in rotation and got my call).

As of now, my PP account shows no open claims. The PP "specialist" suggested that if I had to send back the bag, and take a loss of $209.00 plus shipping, and they were not able to recover the difference, (seller has 4 items listed, a "1" feedback, and 1 - $50 sale other than mine. NO WAY will they have $409.01 in their PP account by now!!) I could use small claims court. (Are you FREAKING kidding me?)

I am SO hopeful that when I take this bag out today I will be told that it is just a very WELL USED authentic with missing pieces. At least that way I will keep it, and all of the bad feelings and just give it a loving home  Sadly though, my hubby will keep a short leash on my retail Juicy shopping now since I ended up buying this. :biguns:

I think I have some moderately good news to report. So, I asked at Nordy's about the bag. I found out that 1) the bag is DEFINITELY used. The clerk also said that the missing cell phone holder & key would definitely diminish the value of the bag. The clerk at the second Nordy's said that she had NO clue where I could even buy the missing pieces. Both clerks agreed that there is a very real possibility that the bag is authentic. :happydance:

One reason for the difference in leather quality seems to be that it may have been from a different part of the cow. The other thing I learned was that it is a slightly different process to make any bag black, versus a natural, or light color. In order to make a handbag dark, especially black, it takes more dye to saturate the leather to that dark of a color. The process to supersaturate the leather leaves it with a more coarse, heavy, thick texture.

I still question that answer to some degree, though because my Chanel and one of my Coach bags are both black and still very soft. :confused1:

I had a somewhat better feeling about the current situation, though, after having talked with them.

One thing that DID irritate me, though, was that they had the bag that i just bought at the Rack for $399.00. Granted, I would have had to have paid $40.00 sales tax, but I could have walked away with the same bag, brand new, with NO history.

It's ok,though. Live & Learn.

Sounds like you're going to put this behind you and try to come to love the bag anyway. If that's the case, that's really generous of you! If you should change your mind though, definately file w/ your CC as the other girls have suggested since it sounds like paypal isn't doing anything to help you.
