Please help!

Hello ladies-
I need your help....I want to purchase a new Chanel tote as my "briefcase" for work. I travel weekly, and carry my laptop, LV zippy wallet, cosmetic case, jewelry, and daytimer. That said, which tote do you think would hold up better over time- the XL GST or the Executive Caviar Tote (not cerf). Since I travel so frequently, I need a bag that can handle a heavy load, and can handle being lugged around. I welcome your thoughts & feedback! TIA!

I don't know the dimensions of both bags. Perhaps you should check the reference section where the style number, hardware, and dimensions are always listed. I some GSTs that are spacious and would imagine the larger one I saw in the store last year could work. I never looked at the inside of the other tote and dont know how many compartments exist or its configurations. Perhaps some other TPFers could be or more assistance. But, it it always exciting and really good to take your time and go through some of the previous threads when they talked about this last year. I rembember a male TPFer was going to purchase the XL GST. GL

Thanks Sassy-I have done some research on the threads & found the posting you are referring to. The measurements are 18x13x7.5 for the XL GST, and 14x12x7 for the Ultimate Executive Tote, so the XL GST is obviously a bit larger, which I like for the travel I do. Do you (or anyone else) know which bag would hold up better under constant travel?

Any advice or feedback on these two totes is welcome! If any of you lovely TPF'ers ahev either one, please chime in. Thank you all & Happy Memorial Day!:smile:

Given your circumstances, I would go with the executive tote. The straps are very heavy duty so can withstand a heavy load. There is a lot of room inside and can fit a laptop plus some (but if you have a big laptop, then I don't know if it will fit). I think I saw the XL GST at the boutique the other day and it looked huge. I don't know if the straps are chain straps but if so, I don't think they could take a heavy load. Can you try the two totes on and decide?

Thanks Vagabag-I appreciate your response....My laptop measures 13" wide & 10" in height. I believe it will fit, but I know that the XL GST will allow for the room I need, just contemplating between the two.

Anyone else that has experience with either bag, please chime in! Thanks everyone!

My girlfriend has the Executive Tote and I compared it to my Chic and Glitter tote which I use to carry my laptop. I think the Executive Tote would be the best choice between the two.

xl gst!!

I was at the neiman marcus at chevy chase, MD about a week about. They had this GORGEOUS bag there that you may be interested in? Its caviar black, had chains for the handles, its a shoulder bag, and had the CC logo stitched on in black as well. I wish i could find a picture for the bag but can't find one through google. Its only for the Fall. It was STUNNING. i wouldve bought it if i didnt purchase my jumbo.

here's a picture thats just a tad bit comparable to the size and shape... but this bag was BIGGER. so pretty.

Thank you for the tip-please send specifics on model #, etc if you can find it, or a picture! I am leaning towards the Ultimate Excutive at this point, as I think it may be not as heavy & sustain alot more abuse from constant airplane travel. I am open to suggestions though, so thank you!

Anyone else-Ultiamte Executive or XL GST? HELP, my 40th b-day is Sunday & I am trying to make a decision! :P Nothing like a Chanel (and a diamond ring :graucho:) to ease the pain of a BIG birthday...

I finally found a picture of the bag i was talking about!!!! This is the bag I saw about a week ago at NM in Chevy Chase, Maryland. It comes in two sizes. The one that I wanted is the one thats bigger than the one that PilatesWorks is modeling. Its HUGE and gorrgeeeousss.
