Hi everyone,
I current have a chanel medium flap in black lambskin. I want a jumbo in caviar as I would like to use it as a more everyday bag. Ideally as I would like a grey colour I feel the caviar would be a better choice than lambskin. I messaged my chanel SA to see if she had any options available and these are what she sent. I’m confused about the leathers, the more yellows beige one is the typical ‘caviar’ I was referring to but does anyone know the leather types of the others and how they compare? I’m more drawn to the grey as this is what I originally wanted.

Thank you!

The "yellow" beige is Beige Clair or the Classic beige. It is in the permanent line like the black and that's why it is edge stitched and looks more like the caviar you are thinking of.

The others are seasonal colors and are not done in the same caviar. They tend to be a bit softer, not as deep grained and depending on the season can look to have a sheen on them.

For a Grey you will have to go with a seasonal. They are still pretty hardy, perhaps just maybe not quite as tough as the other. The fabrication used seems to have been the same for quite a while now with little variations dependent on the season. (back years ago there were several different types of seasonal) perhaps more people can weigh in for you on the wear & tear.

But yeah, that's the difference. Permanent vs. Seasonal.

Ah thank you that’s really helpful! I wish there was a grey in the permanent collection. I think I’ll just have to go to store and see what I think of the grey leather.

Have you tried the bags on? I went with lambskin in my jumbo because the caviar was so heavy. Definitely make sure the weight works for you if you will be carrying it everyday!

If you are open to black rather than grey, I have a jumbo in black caviar and LOVE it! So hardy and durable yet continues to look chic even with being in heavy rotation.

I hope you find a bag you love.
Hi
I originally wanted a black but because I have the medium in black I thought maybe getting something a bit different but that will still match most outfits. I will be sure to check it out though!
