Hi guys - I have a PS1 Medium in Tobacco Suede which I love to DEATH!

I have used Collonil spray on it a few times and it's worked wonderfully - really done the job of waterproofing the bag - I was caught in the rain a few times, and the watermarks dried up completely - not leaving a single mark!

The only thing that bothers me is that the color of the bag has darkend slightly - not sure if it;s cos of the spray or natural aging of the bag.

I know most of you guys use Vectra - but i've steered clear of it cos of bad reviews

Collonil on the other hand - has had rave reviews http://forum.purseblog.com/mulberry/ultimate-amazing-collonil-pics-206940.html

Just wondering what's your take - cos I'm rather new to PS Suede bags.

Thanks in advance!!

^ ^ ^ I agree, Vectra has been awesome on my suede Tobacco as well. I have been very pleased with the product for both suede and leather. My Moss PS1 was caught in a torrential downpour awhile back, was covered in dark uneven spots, but dried back like nothing happened after about 30 minutes. At the time, it had been months since I last protected the bag. That sold me on Vectra!

I emailed Collonil at lunchtime and was very pleasantly surprised that I had a reply almost by return. They were very helpful and made the following comments about using their products on a suede bag:

“we would always recommend Nubuk & Velours for suede as it contains more UV protector than Waterstop and no softening waxes ( which if used excessively could make the suede go a little flat) “

“none of the sprays mentioned will discolour, as long as you spray from 10-15cm or more”

I am definitely going to get another can of the Nubuk & Velours and try a test area but from what they are saying it shouldn’t darken the suede

Thank U so much!!!

That's really really helpful!!!
