Please help! Normal for the PS1 to look like this on the inside???

Hi,

I am hoping to get some advice, please. Is the interior near the sewn seams supposed to look like this, with the glue bits? It seems very shabby to me and not what I would expect for a quality bag. I have not used the bag very much, nor is it that old. Thanks very much!

Hi, I've looked over all my PS1:s and I'm able to see the stitches when looking close up. I don't have the white residue there.

I'm thinking they cleaned the leather with some product before leaving the makers shop and they didn't wipe the corners leaving some of the product there. Perhaps you could try clean it with (alcohol-free) baby wipes or something similar?

It's safe to use the bag otherwise though.

I'll add that of course an expensive bag like the PS1 should not look like this when you buy it. I hope you are able to clean it or exchange for another bag that don't have this issue.

Hi Elliespurse,
Thanks very much for your reply. I am going to try your suggestion of cleaning the corners. It's very odd, the residue seems to be glue (it's very sticky), but why on earth is it applied like that? I am a bit disappointed - it's not like I bought the bag as a knockoff from a street vendor. For the prices PS charges, I expect the bag to be immaculate.

Question: Is it just that you can see the glue? Or does it look like it's coming apart? It appears it the glue didn't do its job of securing the material together like it should have.. You could send those pics to PS customer service and inquire? They're very good about responding.

My PS1:s are not glued together there at all. If you look at the pics above you see the stitches/seam in the corner behind the white. I'm also able to see the seam like this, but there's no white residue there. It's a little puzzling.

Hi,
It feels like glue when I try and pull it off - the stitches seem to be intact.
Looking at the bag more closely, it also appears that the piping / coating (?) along the sides of the straps that close the bag (on both straps) is cracking, from one end to the other. Is this normal as well?
I must say, given the condition of this bag I don't think I would consider purchasing another PS1 again. I have tried contacting PS and have heard nothing. I don't know if they would even do anything since I did not buy from them directly.

Thanks for all of your help!

I had a look at my bag and I also had a bit of white glue there. I have never noticed it before, but it's not as much as you have. It's definitely glue. I got my finger a bit wet and rubbed the spot and it started coming off and I managed to get it off. It doesn't look like it would affect the way the bag holds together at all, I'm not sure what it's there for. It doesn't bother me as it's not noticable and on the inside, but I do agree that you shouldn't get a bag like that, they should take the time to clean it up before it's ready to be sold. So hopefully you can get it off.

I also have a bit of cracking on the sealing, but it's not much and it's not really noticable. I think if I were to look closely at any bag I have I would find little things like this on all of them. Sadly nothing is perfect!!
