Please help...Need opinion re Gucci Queen Margaret bag!

Hi tpf friends. Hoping you will weigh in on this, as I need to make a decision ASAP. I recently decided I "needed" the Gucci Queen Margaret bag with the jeweled bee clasp and pink top handle. After a quick search online, I discovered one at a price that appeared too good to be true. Most of these bags on resale market appeared to range from around $1000 all the way upto $4000 for a couple of listings with the majority in the $1400-$2400 range and a few in the $1000-1100 range in "good" condition (versus very good or excellent) with noted odor/scratches, etc.

I ended up paying just under $900 Including sales tax and shipping, which I believed to be a stellar deal. The bag arrived last night and is in fine shape with no noticeable imperfections, however, I realize it is missing the pink luggage tag and strap. Not sure how I overlooked this in the listing, because i'm usually particular about such details. I think I looked at so many listings trying to assess the condition and figure out the best deal that I acted in a rush.

The bag actually looks fine without these items but of course I feel like I want the luggage tag and strap and am "missing out" by not having these items (whether I would use them or not). The next best deal I can find with shipping and tax will be $1044 or $1087. After original seller offered a small discount for me to keep the bag bc I pointed out a pearl was missing (which I later found and can try to superglue back into bee) I ended up only paying $787 for bag.

Do you think I should just keep bc I got such a bargain (can't even get WOC for this price) or Is it worth it to just pay $250-300 more to get bag with the missing items? Or just use bag as is and save the money?

Well it depends on how much you'll use the strap from a functionality POV. I tend to usually carry top handle bags by the handle, especially something this size.

If you'll use the strap a bunch, I'd return it. Also if you think you would ever resell it, I would return it; because it may pose a challenge when you are selling.

Thank you! Those are things I was considering as well. Might impact resale but I've never sold anything and tend to purchase for my own enjoyment without worrying about that.

As for strap, I tend to carry top handles by handles too though I think this strap really cute so might use it. Realistically, none of my bags get that much use bc I try to rotate and I work from home so don't leave house much.

Still feeling a bit undecided overall because I don't want the bag to feel incomplete, but I also think it looks fine without the additional embellishments, even though truth be told, I don't think I would have purchased without had I noticed in the first place.

Thank you. I know the price was great and I honestly have no idea how often I would use the strap (maybe would use bc i think its cute), but when looking at the pictures side by side, it's hard to not feel like the one with the strap and/or tag ties in the pink handle a little bit better with the rest of the color scheme. Hate being so indecisive!

I get the dilemma because on the one hand I think the bag looks a bit more elegant without the tag and strap however it feels like it's incomplete and it's missing something since you know it should have it. ( like my Ralph Lauren bags have a little clochette that I always take off but I know I have it if I want it. )
I personally would return it.

Buy the $700 without strap, since it’s not essential to you, and $300 is a lot on a $1,000. This bag doesn’t hold value, so get the best price you can for the best condition possible. When you re sell it, it won’t hurt much even if you sell it at $400

Update for anyone interested:

While I couldn't get over what a good deal I got, I knew that ultimately not having the strap and luggage tag would bother me (I mean I woke up the morning after package arrived worrying about how to return). After racking my brain looking at listings all day Saturday, I finally pulled the trigger on another bag Saturday evening. No sooner did I order that I realized the bag I ordered had strap but not luggage tag. I looked at so many listings to find bag in great condition, that I inadvertently ordered wrong one. I freaked out but customer service wasn't opened so I sent them an email explaining and hoped for the best.

This morning I got a pleasant email first thing saying they would gladly cancel my order and void payment. Meanwhile, I lucked out and connected with a really nice seller who had bag in excellent condition - with strap and luggage tag - and purchased from her after negotiating a great price. She already mailed it and provided tracking info and certificate of authenticity.

When it was all said and done (bag, shipping, sales tax) I only ended up paying about $100 more than the discounted original bag without strap or tag or certificate. If I had to purchase strap and tag individually to make bag complete, I would've paid more than $100 so I'm happy.

Should be here by this weekend and so excited to use, I pulled a few things from my closet today that I think will look great with it (photo attached). Anyway, thanks to all who provided input!
