Hello, tPF brain trust. I looked at as many older tPF posts as I could that discussed corail, and I've scoured internet image searches for LV corail bags. But I feel I am no closer to understanding the mystery of this color, and I'm interested in a preowned corail bag.

So, please tell what the best way to describe corail would be. I've seen reseller sites describe it as everything from "red," "coral red," "pink," "dark pink," and "orange." Thank you!

Well … Corail is French for “Coral”, and coral is described as a ‘pinkish-red’, although I’ve also seen it as a reddish-orange. Can you post a photo of the bag you’re interested in?

I know there are variances due to digital screens, etc. But you nailed it -- sometimes I see more pink and sometimes more orange. I actually like pink, orange, and red as colors, but my wardrobe does not equally go with all three, so it would be helpful for me to get a better sense of which "ish" it is.

Here it is:

i just purchased a corail silk shawl, it's gorgeous and hard to pin down a description. in the light it's a neon pink coral, in the dark/shade it's more an orange. it's such a unique shade, although the leather bags seem to be more on the red/orange side from what i can see. I posted the pic of my scarf in the shawl club, it's the last post there :)

Depending on the screen resolution but this looks like the regular Cerise cherry color. The Coral in SC was a bright red with orange undertones

If it helps, here’s a pic of my corail ZCP against my speedy
I think the ZCP above looks like a true coral. The bag Purse Chakra posted is definitely darker and more red than what a coral is usually considered. I'd call it a dark coral maybe.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me sort this out! This bag reminds me of an OPI nail color I liked (Peace & Love & OPI) in that the color totally changed depending on the light. I will report back if I get this bag, and we can all see how close the digital view is to in-person.

Just in case anyone else is ever trying to decide on LV Corail -- thanks to the responses in this thread, I felt good about moving forward and committing to this one. She's gorgeous. My kid said it's pinkish red. DH said it's red. She photographs more red than she is in real life, and right now, I am thinking the dominant color is pink with probably slight orange undertones. But if I had seen the bag without seeing the color name and without asking others about the color, I would have probably just said "dark pink."
