Hi all, I’m in the market for a new bag that I can use for the gym and travel, and just any time I have to cart a lot of things around. I was going to get a Neverfull but I just don’t love it enough and so many people have them in my area. So, the contenders are: two different Gucci bags (sorry I don’t know the names), the Dior book tote or Saint Laurent canvas tote. I also considered the Goyard tote but I don’t have a boutique near me and it doesn’t seem to be as well-known in the North of England, where I live, as it is in London. I love the Dior but it has the highest price point and I’m concerned it’s just an “It” bag. I’ve attached pics for reference.

I like No. 1 it seems more of a real bag to me with all that leather.
2 is also an easy wear/carry and so classic and easy
3 is OK but it's an extra bag to me like a shopping bag one takes along with a small cross-body or shoulder bag (I don't mean EXTRA)
4. Super trendy and 2019. I'd like it so much more if it was just the 1970s mono print and not the uppercase logo (I used to have a silver/gold knitted Dior skit with the mono). Too shouty.
Anyway, moving your thread to where more people will give you their honest opinions outside of Gucci.

Thank you. I’m leaning towards the Dior but it’s so expensive and I’m concerned it’s just a trendy bag and if I decided to sell eventually I wouldn’t get much money back. Do you think this bag will become dated quickly?
I'm not the best person to ask though as I carry 'dated' bags all the time
. But, yes, I'd be concerned that it would too from that POV. If it was just the classic Dior mono I would prefer it so much more. That HUGE uppercase logo is so NOW it can only get tired.
What about the Dior book tote in another print?

I agree with @papertiger. I would go for one of the Gucci bags as they seem most practical and carefree. Also, the giant “Saint Laurent” and “Christian Dior” branding is just too loud for my taste.

Thank you all! I decided to go for the 2nd Gucci bag in the end. It’s not my favourite out of them all - my favourite was the Dior but the price tag has put me off, especially as it’s not going to be an every day bag for me - followed by the Saint Laurent but I felt in the end it was too beachy and would get dirty easily. The second Gucci bag is the most timeless and understated, I feel, and it has a zip. It does feel like the very safe option and it doesn’t make my heart sing but it definitely fits the purpose I need it for - travel, gym, possibly work.
