Hi all, I have a two year old and just don't carry my large bags anymore. I need a good crossbody bag for when I'm out and about with my little one. In terms of crossbody bags, I already have a Chanel medium Boy bag and Chanel WOC but sometimes the Boy gets in the way as it's quite boxy and heavy and the WOC just doesn't hold enough. I've been considering the following:
Gucci Soho Disco
Gucci Marmont small camera bag
Celine Nano
Saint Laurent black croc stamped sac de jour (think it's the nano size)
Something by Chanel (not sure what!)

I was leaning towards Gucci but I don't know if it's a bit too trendy and having its moment and will soon be out of style. Those bags seem to be everywhere at the moment.

I'm also debating whether to get an LV Neverfull (as well as a crossbody bag) to put essentials in like nappies, wipes, snacks and drinks. I don't own a bag like this and thought it would also be useful for the gym and travel.

I would really appreciate your help as I've been going backwards and forwards with the decision for weeks!

I have a 2.5 year old and I love my Gucci Soho Disco for quick errands. It fits a diaper, small pack of wipes, my mini wallet, key cles, & portable phone charger.
I feel like if you want to carry some snacks and drinks, perhaps the Celine Nano and nano Sac De Jour is better.
Personally I'm thinking of getting an LV Speedy B25 which can carry a bit more than my Gucci Disco.

Thanks for your reply. Which colour Gucci do you have?

Would you consider Givenchy? They make great crossbody bags with adjustable straps and very carefree.
Don’t know where you live but every second person in my city has a soho disco or marmont (fake and real) so it’s a deterrent for me (but maybe not for you)

I used a Gucci Marmont Camera Bag before with a 2 year old, and although it did fit what we needed for most days, I got tired of having to downsize and do a little maneuvre of my wallet and rearrange the contents every time. Wallet, phone, one diaper, one small wipes case, keys and we’re full. I did add a juice box on top but had to remove it everytime I needed my wallet. LOL Lasted for probably about two months before I gave up and moved to a slightly bigger purse.

I have 3 kids (9 months, 3 and 6) and have been through a variety of handbags trying to find the perfect one. Since the arrival of my 3rd I think I've finally nailed the best set up for me. I carry a tote with a woc inside (formerly an MCM wallet on strap). I take the tote everywhere but in and out of the grocery store etc I just grab the woc out of the tote. I also have a tote savvy in the small size as someone mentioned above. My go to tote is a longchamp le pliage since I can wipe the inside down easily but I can grab the insert quickly and switch to my neverful or YSL tote or even my diaper bag pack for the zoo etc.

I bought and sold the Gucci disco after my second child. It was too small to accommodate everything I needed and too large to toss inside another bag.

This what I did with my first: used a simple nylon tote as baby bag and I carried a Ralph Lauren Newbury crossbody that had a built in coin pouch, CC slots and enough room for my keys, phone and sunglasses. That way I separate my stuff from baby’s easily. I’m expecting my second and I’ve downgraded my old large Longchamp Neo and bought an insert on Amazon so there are more compartments and will carry a small crossbody for my own stuff again.

You might not like this as it isn’t as trendy looking as the bags you mention but I use a Mulberry Postman-lock Reporter bag in oak. It is surprisingly spacious and has four pockets as well as the main compartment. I have a 2.5 year old and an 18-month old. My older daughter carriers her own little backpack with her change of clothes, drink and snack so I just need to accommodate a couple of nappies, small pack of wipes and vest for my little one. I only carry a purse (wallet), small Burberry make-up purse and my iPhone 7+ so it all fits in nicely and is cross body. It isn’t current stock anymore but there are usually some on eBay. It isn’t popular enough to be faked so you won’t see loads of dodgy ones either. I bought a thinner strap for mine as I found the woven one too bulky.

On the Neverfull, I did try this but IMO the bag is just to awkward. Doesn’t hang easily on a stroller or on your shoulder when you are carrying kids.

I use a Chanel mini (all i need for me is phone wallet, keys, small pack of tissues and lipgloss) and all her stuff is in paca pods under her pram. I also like you tried a medium boy and still do on occasion but I prefer the mini as it is not as bulky and can also go into her pram basket if needs be. Pods go into a back pack if we need to be pram free.

I’m currently considering a Céline Trio as my next purchase for a mom bag. I had a Goyard Plumet bag that was a similar style but started peeling and cracking. The style itself was really convenient when I was out with my little one. The Trio occasionally comes in pretty exotic leathers as well!

I wonder if some of the ones you mentioned may be a bit small. I always find I underestimate what I need to take with me having kids. By the time you have fitted in a diaper, wipes and a squeezy pouch you are going to struggle to fit in wallet, phone, sunglasses, lipgloss, keys ect.
I think a small tote sized bag will be better than a camera bag. It's always better to have a little extra space and be able to find things easily than have everything squished in and be cursing under your breath trying to find your car keys while the toddler is having a tantrum lol.
