I'm in the market for a wallet. I love the new Louis Vuitton Sarah in Damier Ebene (this is the older version, the new one has the envelope flap) (http://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/products/sarah-wallet-damier-ebene-000878) but $700....Ouch!

I prefer those types of wallets. Lots of cc slots, zippered coin section, lots of organization. I would also love a pop of color. I know LVs last forever but I'm also open to buying something less expensive.

Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!

There's so many great options out there for continental wallets; it's hard to know where to begin. Ferragamo and Prada aren't much cheaper, but are leather in a variety of colors like these:

About half the price of those, there's Tory Burch and Diane von Furstenberg:

Thank you so much leechiyong!! I appreciate the suggestions.

I should add that I'm looking for something light weight. Thanks again!!

You're welcome. A bit of a different style and it appears they sold out of their brighter colors, but perhaps Everlane? I bought the folded card case, which is my standard size and it's probably the lightest wallet I have. Their continental style is only $115.

I have the Emilie and it is a really great wallet. Not a lot of credit card slots, but enough room to hold everything anyway. I keep a checkbook, cash and cards in it. It is also very lightweight.

I agree with all the other suggestions above, but another brand I have found to be super lightweight, well-made and of excellent quality is Giorgio Fedon. I discovered the brand in Hong Kong and have since found it on Yoox and Forzieri. Great leather, great workmanship and great organization.

I just wanna add that I have three of the Salvatore Ferragamo wallets that leechiyong posted, and I love them. They're exactly what you're looking for, and they're not heavy.

Thank you!! I think the one downside of the Emilie are the 4 slots. However, I only "need" 4. But I do have a lot of cards. I think most use one of the pockets for their extra cards or another pouch to hold them.

Thanks for the other recommendations

Really? How do they hold up? The Grape color looks gorgeous! I love purple.

They hold up pretty well. But they are leather and just like most leather, it all depends on how you treat it.

That said, my older Olive wallet has held up very well, and I still use it, but it does show wear.
My brown one, is over a year old and it still looks almost new. I used it straight for about 8 months. My red one has only been used once..lol.. so can't comment.

Thank you!! I seem to have my heart set on the Emilie. Sigh.... We shall see.

Well if you change your mind I recommend Ferragamo as well. I have a continental zip around and have had it for a few years. It is holding up very well and I still love it. Plus it has all of your criteria...lots of cards slots, zippered coin section, and great organization. Here's a photo...

Thank you so much!! I need to look into Ferragamo!

Seems like you'd prefer a flap wallet (Sarah or Emilie) but I couldn't make up my mind between the two (Sarah has way more slots than I'd use but in Emilie I'd have to double up the cards), so I'm thinking of the Clemence (kind of like the Zippy Wallet but only eight slots and fewer dividers, with a zippered coin section and it's $535 in Canada). Currently I have a DE ZCP I've been using for over four years and it still looks brand new, but I need something a bit bigger. I'd always recommend LV to anyone who can afford it, as it does wear a lot better than any other brand of wallet I've had.
