Hello everyone!

I have a YG diamond pendant which I no longer wear- I have gone off YG & the large bale seems to make the 0.15ct diamond look even smaller!

I'm meeting with my jeweller on Saturday to reset my diamond. I have recently fallen in love with the DBTY style. I'm pretty much set on RG (both TPF & my hubby unanimously prefer RG on me), but my hubby & I can't seem to decide on the details.

I assumed the bezel would have "ears" like the T&Co version. This would mean it would match my 0.05ct SS dbty should I ever want to layer.

My husband & my jeweller, however, prefer no "ears" saying it actually makes the diamond look larger without them.

I'm not sure what looks best.

Secondly, I had again assumed I'd get a smooth bezel to match the T&Co version. However, hubby pointed out that I LOVE vintage jewellery & milgrain (my wedding set & eternity rings have beautiful handmade milgrain). So should I add it here too?

Personally I prefer no ears and no milgrain, plus a more delicate bezel than the one in the photo you supplied of a DBTY without ears. I think milgrain is stunning but maybe in a more traditional setting - a bezel setting is more modern and looks better smooth imo. That said, you have to love it - what makes your heart sing?

Can't wait to see photos once you have decided and the necklace is finished! I have a couple of similar projects with my jeweller at the moment, very excited!

I am doing a very similar reset. I went with the Brian Gavin Barbara pendant with milgrain. A benefit of it being on a slider is the ability to switch chains. I am setting my stone in white gold but plan on using either a wg or yg chain.
Love the look of a thinner bezel.

Update:

Thanks for all your help everyone! We met with my jeweller today & finalised the details for my gorgeous new necklace. We decided to go with no ears (it'll be on a slider) & with milgrain. Milgrain is just more me. CANNOT WAIT!!!

Can't wait to see it! Exactly the choices I would have made. I love milgrain.

Literally all of my jewellery has milgrain! I even got it added to my engagement ring so that it matched my wedding ring. Then of course it's on my green diamond eternity ring...

The pendant was supposed to be my big splurge this year but tomorrow I'm getting a quote for bezel set RG stud earrings (with milgrain of course). My husband will kill me. Shhhhhhhh
