My DD's birthday is coming up and I want to buy something to give her when she's older, or something to wear on special occasion. What do you ladies think of saphirs leger's de cartier earrings. Or should I save the money and buy VCA sweets (I'll be buying myself the sweets soon so it will still go to my DD). Currently, she's wearing a DBTY small studs. No, nobody knows it is Tiffany and I prefer it that way. Any advice would be appreciated as I know that only on TPF I could ask and get an honest opinion 😊

How old is your daughter? My daughter is 13 and even at her age, I don't think she would have much appreciation for fine jewelry. I bought her a pair of pink pearl freshwater studs last year for her 12th birthday and she's hardly worn them. I think it depends on 1) whether she'll appreciate it, and 2) whether she'll take care of it.
If you feel she's ready, then of the choices, I really like the VCA sweets and I would probably go with a necklace since I think it's a little risky with a bracelet (more prone to maybe loss or damage).

I had this very same situation.
At first I was going to buy my daughter the VCA sweets earrings ( she's 13) but I worried that it would be too easy for her to lose one. I considered the sweet necklace in the clover shape. Ultimately I bought the full sized clover for her. My reasoning was this- the full size clover is still small/ discrete for a teen and she can enjoy it for the rest if her life. The sweets are cute, but I'm glad that I bought the full sized clover. It looks great on my daughter and she reserves it for special occasions. I'm quite sure that by the time my daughter reaches her 20's the sweets will cost more than the regular size. The price increases are crazy!!
I've already purchased a second single clover pendant for our youngest daughter just to lock in the price. It will stay in the safe for the next several years and I'll give it to her when she turns 13.

Thanks for all the comments ladies. My DD is 3. I don't think the earrings will get lost on her ear. My DD has been wearing her Tiffany stud since she was 18 months ok'd and still good as new. And I plan on keeping all the other expensive jewelry until she's old enough to appreciate it. And just like TGG, it will be so expensive by the time she's old enough, and I won't have any money for jewelry in the next few years. It will be private school fees, extra sports or music lesson + swimming lesson and university funds. Gosh the list never ends. 😀😉

Maybe I should re-phrase my question to avoid confusion. What I really want to know is if anyone has the cartier pink sapphire earrings in real life? If it's worth it?
I'll be buying myself the VCA MOP sweet studs, wear it, and eventually pass it on to DD. I am looking at the cartier earrings for her as a present to wear only for special occasion for now like weddings, and Christmas. I want to buy an earring because I know that it's not going to fall off because the backings are so secure, unlike the necklace which hangs and a choking hazard for her age. So the question is does anyone have this, and what do you think of it? Thank you so much!

I bought my 3-year old DD the VCA sweet pendant in pink gold. She loves it! She knows it is hers but allows me to borrow it. She also knows that I am the only one allowed to take it off. She knows it is very special and takes great care of it. I am looking at getting her a sweet bracelet for her birthday next month. I bought my 1-year old DD a sweet Cartier Trinity bracelet and I am holding on to it until she gets old enough.

That's great ChaneLissette. What little fashionistas we're making. Lol. Yeah, I want to buy my DD little pieces that she could wear every now and again. What's the point of having nice things if you don't get to use it and enjoy it? :smile1:
