Hi there!

I’m new to Chanel and would like some help. I want a medium size classic flap in black, Pre-loved, the new ones are a bit too expensive for me at the moment.

I can’t decide between a vintage bag (1991 I believe) and a newer bag (2010). Which one would you pick?

The first two pics are the vintage one (obviously). The two corners of the flap are a bit damaged as you can see on the picture. This one comes with authenticity card and the hologram inside the bag of course. I know vintage bags are usually not perfect but would these corners bug you?

Then there is this 2010 bag. This one is in (almost) perfect condition, only the turn thing on the lock is a bit faded. It comes without authenticity card. The seller is thrustworthy so I do believe this is the real deal. This one is about 600 dollars more expensive than the vintage one.

I just don’t know which one I like more, they are both very different looks and I like them both.

So which one would you choose and why?

Thank you for your help!

Both will hold their value, but both have very different looks despite being the same bag. I personally don’t mind the corners as that can sometimes be fixed and even if not, it’s vintage so it’s to be expected (tho you can always find one without the corner damage too!).
But vintage is a totally different vibe than the new.
It sounds like corners make you a bit unsure and the only reason you may be going for it is because it’s $600 cheaper, which I totally get.
If you can afford the newer one and if that’s what truly make you more excited to get and use, then I would go for the newer one. It looks amazing, that leather <3 <3
I love vintage Chanel bags too, but unless you’re going after the vintage look specifically and it’s not about price, then yeah I would do the newer one. This is just my opinion and YMMV. Let us know what you decide!! This is exciting for you either way! You can’t go wrong.

I decided to go vintage, but found one without the damaged corners. I thought this style suites me a bit better than the newer one.7AEB0338-A574-4B7C-8549-99299A410F32.jpeg
