Hi guys! I am not sure if this is the right place but this lockdown has made me realize that i have too many bags lying around. Am hoping to curate it to less than 10 bags. Currently these are the bags in my collection. I separated them in three catagories, 1-8 crossbody/shoulder bags, 9-13 totes, 14-20 mini bags. I have included some photos of the bags that I have. Any tips on how you guys curate your collection?

For reference, i am a mom of 3 working as an architect so i dress quite semi formal most of the times. I love vintage bags, as i tend to like a lot of discontinued designs. Some in the list are bought brand new. My workhorse bags are my tods, longchamp and dior tote. I dont bring the other bags to work, which makes them only weekend bags. Really appreciate your input! Thank you so much!

You have a beautiful collection. My favourites include your Dior Promenade Pochette in Plum and your Chanel Vintage Chevron Flap. You stated you'd like to go from 20 to less than 10. Many of us have bags that are not seeing a lot of use in the current times. Have you thought about your "why" you would like to curate, so it helps refine your choices? The good thing is most of us don't have a fixed timeline and these decisions can me made mindfully and with less chance of regrets (I have been there and done that, gone too fast and missed a couple.) I think it's great you're breaking your collection into groups. How about breaking them into smaller groups, perhaps by purpose/event/functions and photographing the bags in those groups. Are there any non functioning bags or least favourites you can identify in each grouping? Which ones are your favourites?

I recommend joining the conversation on the Shopping Your Closet Thread, which talks about curation, mindful acquisitions and lots of other fun topics. @papertiger posed this question to the group and there are many thoughtful answers, We spend a lot of time discussing why we buy bags but not so much editing. What is your top priority for letting go of a bag?

@diane278 started a great thread with practical ideas, https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/share-your-edited-bag-closet-journey.1019229/

Also, here's a youtube video that runs through curating a collection,

I hope it helps and I hope you share what decisions you've made!

Tqvm for the suggestion. I love watching her vids on youtubeincluding colorful noir’s as they always talk about curating a smaller collection. I just feel so attached to all the remaining bags that i have
I have actually sold a bal city, a bal hip, a dior panarea, two celine trios and a burberry tote. But the rest I can’t seem to let go
