So I just bought a set 10+5 motifs in onyx.
Now I am thinking about getting one more item from VCA before going to ban island. A necklace or a piece I can combine as a necklace.
I am looking for a piece I can wear casually but with a strong impact!
My choices :
1. Magic malachite necklace as shown previously. My favorite, Love the color but malachite might be sensitive and I dont want to ruin it.

2. Magic grey mop necklace but it is not available anymore at my store.

3. The magic bracelet to wear as a necklace, combined with my 5 motifs bracelets. I know this one is maybe not ideal but I love the look. Dont think I Will wear it as a bracelet.

4. The magic guilloche pendant! Maybe too loud for casual as all gold?!

5. Other suggestions?

I want a piece versatile that I can use with my onyx to give more possibilites...And my budget is not unlimited.
Here is a pic with the magic bracelet as a necklace with the onyx bracelet..Does it look cheap? Or trying too hard?
I would love your advices. Thanks a lot

I know I a m asking lots of questions these days. I cannot explain the full situation, I am trying not to be too impulsive, but I need to decide before the end of this week. Thanks in advance for you kind avices.

My opinion? I think you need to go with what is calling you, which sounds like it is malachite. Yes, its sensitive and you need to be careful but the pendant needs a bit less babying than the bracelet or ring. You should really love a piece, otherwise its just money spent for something that is partially loved and that kind of misses the point of buying and building a useful jewellery collection (esp at VCA prices). Not everything always has to be practical, if that makes sense. Sometimes you just need to go with what you are in love with. If that is malachite, I say get it BUT just be aware. In other words, don't wear it on days when you know you may get caught in the rain or if your planning to go hiking and may be sweating in 95F heat. While the times you wear it may be less frequent than daily, the joy you will get from it when you do wear it will be satisfying and worth the purchase.

If you are open, however, to all of your listed items equally here are my thoughts:
Grey MOP pendant: Can they bring it in from another store? Its not been discontinued so it should eventually arrive and if this is your preference it will be worth the wait. I love the GMOP pendant. Are you ok with rose gold or are you hoping to keep all metals in yellow? GMOP may act as a bit more of a neutral in comparison to malachite's green but it has such a beautiful sheen and changes colours depending on the angle.

The Magic bracelet. Honestly, I like the idea and I've been seeing this connection with a five motif a lot more lately but I don't know if you will get most value from this purchase if you don't think you would wear it as a bracelet, which really is its design intention. Personally, I don't love the clasp issue. If that won't bother you or you are happy with the concept don't let my opinion deter you. Life is too short and seeing a clasp isn't that serious. At the end of the day it is only a clasp.

Guilloche Pendant: I LOVE guilloche but it is very bling. Its going to depend on whether you like that level of bold or not. I have two necklaces (vintage pendant and ten motif) in guilloche, and while I have no issues with them being delicate, remember, if you plan to wear it long, then you have more opportunity for it to bang into desks, tables, snag, etc. and that too will not come without a level of caution (just like malachite comes with concern and GMOP for that matter) so it doesn't get scratched. The thing with guilloche, however, is that it cannot be replaced.

Therefore, my suggestion is for Malachite. Just be a bit more "aware" when you wear it.

1. Magic malachite necklace - sounds like this is what you like! i think in general the magic does move around abit more / abit like the 20 motif which might bang into things. im abit careless but just so you know. i think given the length of the magic if worn long vs short, i dont think i foresee much 'issues' with the maintenance of the stone. i know someone on instagram who wore her 5 motif bracelet as a necklace and due to sweat the stone got ruined. but i think if you wear it long, there is less chance of that happening.

2. Magic grey mop necklace - this is quite pretty but in rose gold. not sure if you intend to wear it in combination with your onyx pieces and if you mind mixing metals. im fine with mixing metals but just wanted you to be sure. i always feel that we shouldnt rush into getting pieces as there are not real 'timelines'. just try them on for more peace of mind / less buyers remorse.

3. The magic bracelet to wear as a necklace, combined with my 5 motifs bracelets - personally i dont like how that motif dangles when worn as a necklace. not sure if it bothers you. secondly on the clasp - i dont like it but i think if your hair sufficiently covers the clasp it still looks fine

4. The magic guilloche pendant! Maybe too loud for casual as all gold?! - i tried this and personally it was abit too loud for me but it really depends on your comfort level

5. Other suggestions? i recently tried the 6 motif necklace and loved it. i initially thought it would be too... over the top. it doesn't get as much love on the forum i feel. many people prefer instead the 10 motif / 20 motif necklaces. try more necklaces and ask the SA for her opinion!

You sound rushed…don’t understand why you need to decided by end of this week…I would wait a while to decide since you seem unsure and some pieces are not in stock to try.

If you want a piece to go with your necklace and bracelet why don’t you go for earrings? Onyx, malachite, pave, guilloche, etc. So many pairs will go.

I love malachite it is my favourite stone. My husband surprised me with the 5 motif bracelet. I don’t wear it a lot since I live in a tropical climate now but I love when I do wear it and plan to get magic pendant or earrings to match later on. I don’t think it is crazy delicate as my bracelet still looks new. Just need to be careful when you chose to wear it. The malachite looks beautiful with your outfit in the picture. I find green goes with so many colours. I think you are settling with grey mop or guilloche vs. Going with malachite.

I hate clasps showing so I would not wear 2 bracelets together. I also shorten my bracelets so they don’t work as necklaces. If you like the magic then get the actual necklace.

Well….it’s a slippery slope isn’t it?
Look into your closet & think about your lifestyle. Every day when you get dressed ask yourself which of the VCA items you are considering would you reach for ?
What would integrate best into your wardrobe, your style, your esthetic?
Savor the process ….

The malachite looks stunning on you. I think I would double up so it would be less likely to bang off something. Can you check how much would it be to replace the motif and assess how comfortable you feel doing this every 5 years? I'm just pulling the figure 5 out of the air - obv this will depend on wear and tear.

The magic guilloche is beautiful but it is a very noticeable piece. I would find this difficult to wear on a daily basis. I would be more concerned about this than the malachite, because my understanding is that it can't be replaced when scratched.

The Grey MOP would be a great compromise- can this be ordered in for you?

The magic 6 motif bracelet isn't ideal, as you said yourself. This is too much money for something not to be ideal.

Would you consider the perlee clover pendant in gold? Or are you looking for a piece with my presence? I think that's a great piece to go with alhambra, without being too matchy.

The Malachite Pendant looks gorgeous on you. I just want you to keep in mind that Malachite does change over time. I have a 20 motif Malachite that I have owned for over 10 years and the stone has evolved. I still love it but the striations have blended together a bit. If I were you I would get a vintage alhambra pendant that you can wear as an "everyday pendant. Actually if you can wait a bit you can see what the Holiday Pendant will be this year and purchase that. I love my Holiday Pendants as they have a small diamond and are easy to wear for everyday.

Thanks a lot wonderful people for taking the time to help.
Sometimes, the simple fact of writing down things can help clarify my ideas.
You all have valid points and very good advices.
I realise I am overthing it. Wich should not be the case for a luxury purchase.

I will keep you posted once I decide.
Thanks again

Nothing wrong with over-thinking at this price point!
