Hi! I'm currently searching for an everyday bag that I can take to run errands and take to a nicer event. It also has to be large enough to hold my essentials and a small pack of wipes and two diapers for my baby (not asking it to be a diaper bag, but something that can hold some baby essentials for a few hours).

In terms of aesthetics, I would like a bag to be ladylike, classic, and timeless.

I have narrowed it down to three bags and got all three to try out (see pictures)
  • Celine Trapeze Tricolor in Small (I will be wearing this with the wings tucked in most of the time)
    • Pros: I think this bag looks super cute, the shoulder strap is perfect length and very comfortable, it is roomy for how compact it looks
    • Cons: It's a little hard to get in and out of this bag, it's pretty wide at the base and feels like it could be a little bulky, also i'm afraid this is a "trendy" bag
  • Fendi Peekaboo Iconic Medium
    • Pros: I like the shape and timeless design. I thought the divider would make it less roomy but I can still fit everything I need with some room to spare. It's easy to get in and out of the bag
    • Cons: I can't decide if it looks too serious- too much like a work bag. Also don't like the strap - it's too long and not a huge fan of how it attaches to the top handle.
  • Tory Burch Lee Radziwill Medium
    • Pros: I think this one looks the most classic and ladylike of the bunch. The leather is beautiful, and the inside is lined with leather as well.
    • Cons: Doesn't hold as much as the other two, it's closure mechanism is a magnet and the belt clasp, which is a little unconventional, shoulder strap digs into my shoulder and is a bit uncomfortable, and also I don't know how well Tory Burch bags hold up (not too familiar with the brand)
Please let me know your opinions! I am really stuck  Thank you

I'd go for either the Fendi or the Tory Burch.
I like the color of the Tory Burch the best, but the shape and clasp mechanism look a bit too formal. The Peekaboo is a bit less structured and can be made more formal or more casual depending on how you wear it...
Since you want a bag for everyday and for events, I'd go with the Peekaboo.

Thanks for explaining that. I agree. I also love how the TB looked with that lighting. In reality the peekaboo isn’t that much darker.

My husband casually mentioned that the peekaboo looks the most masculine of the three and that it looked like an work/office bag. Before hearing that I was really leaning towards peekaboo. I’m a pretty feminine dresser, so a “masculine” bag didn’t really appeal to me. Please tell me if he’s wrong lol

I like the Celine on you.
But if you can, fill up each bag like you plan to use it and walk around wearing it for a good while.
See how heavy each one gets when full, how annoying it might be to need to yank out a diaper quickly when baby is screaming (but the clasp won't open fast enough) etc. Will it stay tightly closed if baby yanks the bag & knocks it over?
Does the bag have protective feet on bottom in case you need to put it down in a public place or restroom?
Can it fit easily on or under a stroller without being too bulky?

As much as i love some of my bags, the heavy ones get least used.

The Fendi Peekaboo - but the TB looks surprisingly good on you too (I say 'surprisingly' just because I don't know their bags, even less than you).

If the quality is there with the TB, presumably you can save some £E$ (I leave that to your judgement) but I know the Fendi is impeccable and sumptuous. Since the TB feels uncomfortable, that's a sure bet for the Fendi.

Thank you all for your input! I think I’m actually going to keep both the Fendi and the Tory Burch for now!

The Celine was a little too cumbersome and hard to get in and out of. It is also not meant to wear with the sides folded in, and I can see where the wings would get wear if they were tucked in and against the zipper all the time.

I was a little hesitant to keep both the peekaboo and the TB because at first glance they look soo similar, but I think they’ll serve different purposes. The peekaboo will be my casual fall/winter bag that also works in the warmer seasons if I have a business meeting or just going out and need more space. The Tory Burch will be my formal bag for spring/summer that also works in cooler months. (I’m just realizing how versatile brown is!)

As context, I’m (trying) to be more minimalist with my wardrobe and trying to curate a small collection of handbags that would work for all occasions. I think this rounds out the collection!!
Fall/Winter Casual - Fendi Peekaboo
Fall/Winter Dressy - Vintage Hermès
Spring/Summer Casual - I love a woven basket bag
Spring/Summer Dressy - Tory Burch
